Hello, it’s been a while! I’ve been pulled back from sharing for some moons now. Part of this has been because I’ve intentionally wanted to take back more of my time and attention. Part of this has also been because I’ve been sitting with important questions and new opportunities.
During this time, the universe, my well ancestors, guides, and guardians have guided me as I’ve made some huge decisions and choices. I value authenticity and transparency and in the spirit of those values, I want to share where I am and where I’m going.
Two weeks ago, I took a new full-time job in the nonprofit sector. For seven years before stepping into my healing work full-time, I worked in the nonprofit industry, primarily in communications and engagement. I’m excited to be entering this world again. This transition, like any, has been a huge shift for me and my family, but one that’s already felt so right and rewarding. My job is incredibly flexible - I’m working from home a lot, have an amazing amount of PTO, have all my weekends and evenings free, and many more incredible benefits. That’s all I will share about this for now, more potentially coming later.
I’m very much still working in my business and have no plans to change that. I’ve shifted around my capacity for this work to make space for my new job. From this point forward I’m focusing only on my sound baths and ceremony work. For sound baths, I’m still taking inquiries, though I’m being more thoughtful and selective about what I’m saying yes to. You can still send in sound bath inquiries on my website waverlydavis.com/sound-baths. I’m also continuing to grow my ceremony work, in both Virginia and Maryland. You can learn more about my ceremony offering on my website waverlydavis.com/ceremony.
As for what to expect from my Substack and Instagram spaces, I still intend to be less present, especially as I’m settling into my new job. I will share when I feel inspired to share but otherwise won’t be spending much time checking messages or comments. I don’t have the capacity (or frankly the desire) to spend a lot of time in this way. That said, I still love hearing from you! I prefer receiving connections over email instead of on socials. If you’d like to reach out, please feel free to at waverly@waverlydavis.com
A reminder (for me and you), change is messy; big transitions are exciting, challenging, enlivening, and exhausting. What I’ve shared above is what I imagine the next season of my work and life will look like, but who really knows?! Life can shift and change on a dime. As they say, practice makes progress (not perfection) and I’m SO here for staying present in the practice of life.
Thanks for reading, and most of all, thanks for being here, whether you’ve just arrived or have been following my journey for years, I cherish your presence deeply.
with love,
Waverly
1 - I used this quote recently for a project at my new job. It feels so true for now and always: “Look closely at the present you are constructing; it should look like the future you are dreaming” — Alice Walker
2 - I got adrienne marie brown’s new book, Loving Corrections, and just started reading it. I know it’s going to change a lot for me.
3 - I intend to report back on my daily practice journey at some point. It has shifted with my new job, but what has stuck are some simple somatic practices I’ve been using when I’m feeling overwhelmed or needing a reset - fluttering my lips, visually orienting, and patting my body. So simple and so helpful!
until next time ♡
