V. S. Holmes · The Speculative

This is a short, sweet update email. I’ve been hard at work on some new projects, but this is my quiet planning part of the year. A large part of planning is realizing which direction to head, even if it’s a new one. I’ll still be writing, and publishing, but at a slower pace. I might not reach out each month, but I’ll still share news and sales as they arise. Like gardening, we must amend the soil after it’s been fallow, so I’m reading and watching and listening, refilling my creativity.

To that end, Amphibian Press, the micro-press I started over a decade ago, is closing its doors. Of course, all the titles will still remain available. What does this mean? It means more time to focus on the work that best serves both myself and my community. I’ll still be writing, of course, but at a different pace, and this allows the other authors with us to find a better path as well. Please go support O. E. Tearmann now! As for my newsletter and writing, that will remain, and I look forward to sharing more with you all soon.

One of my reasons for this change in focus is helping out our neighbors. I’ve picked up baking for Lasagna Love recently. There’s a place for everyone in revolution. I’ll continue to share organizations and mutual aid requests here. If you know of any other let me know and I can add them to the list!

I recently started reading The Iliac Crest by Mexican author Cristina Rivera Garza and I love it so far. The imagery is delightful and I highly recommend! We’ve also caught up on a few films, like Wake Up Dead Man. For you lovely people, I have two sales this month.
