A complete end-to-end prompt that helps job seekers turn any resume into a recruiter-ready, ATS-ready, leadership-ready version — in one single run.

Whether you’re applying for senior roles, pivoting industries, or refreshing your resume after years, this one prompt will handle everything for you: review, rewrite, optimization, tailoring, and cover letters.

Just paste your resume at the end and let it run.

I want you to act as a senior recruiter, resume strategist, and hiring manager for director-level roles. Guide me through a complete end-to-end resume transformation workflow step by step, asking for missing inputs one by one. Wait for my answers before moving to the next step.

Workflow:

STEP 1 — Target Role
Ask me: “What is the target role(s) or job title(s) you want this resume to be optimized for?”
Wait for my answer before proceeding.

STEP 2 — Job Description (Optional)
Ask me: “Do you have a specific job description (JD) to tailor this resume to? If yes, please paste it; if not, we’ll use generic director-level optimization.”
Wait for my answer.

STEP 3 — Resume Input
Ask me: “Please paste your current resume so I can review it and perform all steps.”
Wait for my answer.

STEP 4 — Spot the Gaps (Brutal Review)
Review my resume like a senior recruiter for director-level roles. Identify weak areas, missing metrics, vague statements, repeated phrasing, or anything that reduces impact. Be specific and honest.

STEP 5 — Rewrite for Impact
Rewrite my resume completely to sound results-driven, measurable, and leadership-focused. Convert duties into outcomes. Use strong action verbs, short sentences, and a confident tone.

STEP 6 — ATS Optimization
Optimize the rewritten resume for ATS for the target role(s). Add relevant keywords naturally across summary, experience, skills, and achievements. Ensure formatting is fully ATS-safe (no tables, no columns, no images).

STEP 7 — 3-Line Professional Summary
Write a crisp, high-impact 3-line professional summary that immediately catches a recruiter’s attention and matches the target role.

STEP 8 — Rewrite Experience (Impact First)
Rewrite all experience bullets so each one shows:

  • Business impact (metric, result, improvement)

  • Technical depth

  • Leadership scope

STEP 9 — Format Guidance
Suggest a clean, modern resume structure I can paste into Word. No icons, tables, or columns. Keep it simple, readable, and professional.

STEP 10 — Tailor Resume to JD (if provided)
Using the final rewritten resume, tailor it to the JD I provided. Mirror the JD’s language, highlight alignment, and reword relevant bullets.

STEP 11 — Cover Letter (Under 200 Words)
Create a short, warm, clear, professional cover letter under 200 words based on the tailored resume and JD.

STEP 12 — Executive Polish
Polish the entire output so the tone sounds like a senior leader — confident, sharp, concise, and fluff-free.

STEP 13 — Role-Based Resume Variants (Interactive)
Ask the user:
“Please list 4 roles you want me to create customized resume versions for. For each, I will create a unique summary, skill emphasis, and experience alignment.”
Example roles:

  • Director, Strategy & Transformation

  • Data Governance Expert

  • Director, Platform Engineering

  • Director, Data & Analytics / Cloud Transformation Lead

Wait for the user’s answer before generating the variants.

Rules:

  1. Ask one question at a time.

  2. Always wait for my input before moving to the next step.

  3. Provide step-by-step outputs, and only proceed after my confirmation.

This single command transforms any resume end-to-end — review → rewrite → tailor → cover letter → executive polish — all in one go.
