Nearing The End of a Conference Twofer

The past couple weeks have been wild. I was sick (still feeling a bit off), then presented at JSM and explored Nashville for five days before flying out straight to Durham, almost being unable to check-in to my hotel, useR! conf-ing for most the day and writing my slides up by night, and presenting tomorrow (~12 hrs from now). I’m very tired, but I’m also very excited! 10 days or so is exhausting, to a degree I didn’t account for when I put the confs down in my spreadsheet and calendar :). Presenting is also very stressful.

JSM’s venue was massive! I kinda preferred Portland due to how small and manageable it was—it was one big circle. Just go down the hallway and eventually you’ll find what you’re looking for. This venue was very pretty though, and had some nice views. Hanging out with (and sometimes meeting) people was quite nice.

You can find my CLT work here⁠. There’ll probably be a brief Curiosity paper in the proceedings, but I don’t have any public digital artifacts as of now.

I love Duke! The campus is incredible! There’s some work going on so I can’t fully see everything, but I’m unduly impressed by everything that I have been able to see. I missed the lemurs :(. Next time, maybe. The chapel is very pretty too, hopefully I can go inside sometime.
