Dara couldn’t stop looking at Noam Álvaro.
It was annoying, actually—the boy was everywhere, and even when Dara did his best to avoid him, somehow he kept showing up. Dara went for a run? Álvaro was there. Dara went to the courtyard for a cigarette? Guess who was out for a walk.
Dara would think Álvaro was doing it on purpose if he didn’t know with one hundred percent certainty that he was not, in fact, doing it on purpose.
It was Dara, then. Dara noticing him, no matter what. Álvaro’s mind was like a black hole, sucking Dara in. Dara falling toward him, always, forever. Falling.
