Please note that there will be a Memorial Service for Nathan Ballard, beloved VFW bartender, father, son, nephew and dear friend on Thursday, June 18th at 11 AM at Lakepointe Church East Dallas, 9150 Garland Rd. Reception with family and friends at 1 PM at the VFW, 9189 Garland Rd (across the street). We are accepting donations (cash or card)to benefit Nathan’s son, Caleb. See Kathi, Sandra or Kelley.
Another busy week (as always!) supporting our Veterans and our East Dallas community! Thanks to all for the unwavering support! We are working to make our Post better and safer! Just a reminder, we now have an electric security gate that is intended to keep our property safer after closing. Please remember, if you leave your car overnight, it will not be retrievable until the next day at noon.
On Sunday, 6/14 we held the traditional “hanging” of the new Auxiliary President’s picture! Congratulations Sandra S! She and Mark C, our beloved Commander (third term and holding!) exchanged gavels! We had great food…thank you to all Volunteers!

Monday, 06/15: The Swingtime Big Band practices in the big hall 7PM-8:30PM! This amazing 15+piece big band practices their craft here every Monday through June! They love an audience (and applause!)…if you enjoy big band, swing and jazz, come out this Monday and enjoy the sound! Get ready & mark your calendars for their Independence Day concert on Wednesday, July 1! 6:30!!
Tuesday, 06/16: Tuesday Night Dinner is Chef Maria is making Lasagne, salad and garlic bread… $10. 6:30. Come to the kitchen…cash or card!
Tuesday, 06/16: High Staxx Poker will be hosting two games with VFW 6796 canteen gift cards as prizes. Play starts at 7:00pm. It’s a $10 tip per game for the dealer. This is not for cash prizes.
Tuesday, 06/16: Art Expressions Workshops through No Limits Arts Theatre (NLAT) This workshop is open to the public but you must register for this fun class: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/art-expressions 6PM-7PM Fiber Art by VET. 7PM-8PM Line Dancing with Norita!
Wednesday, 06/17: Commander Test Kitchen! Join us from 6pm-8pm for Wednesday drink specials with $3 wells, live music, and complimentary heavy appetizers! Every week is something new! Catch live music on the patio from local talent, Greg Hosterman! Hopefully, brother Clay will be here too (VFW 6796 Jr. Vice). Treat yourself by coming up and being a part of this fun evening!

Sunday, 06/21: Happy Father’s Day! Allison has been brining brisket to make homemade corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots. All of the good things! Join us! Men eat free… Women $5. Calendar Meeting at 1:30.
Sunday, 06/21: Jam Session: Join ZenBubba and friends at the Sunday Jam session from 3-7 pm. Local musicians and music lovers gather to make music in a group setting. Bring your favorite instrument…Come and join or simply sit and listen! All are welcome!
