Eclipses have been freaking people out for thousands of years, and honestly, fair. Long before anyone understood the mechanics, the sun just disappearing at midday, or the moon going dark and blood red, read as a message from somewhere. Astrologers still kind of treat it that way, not as doom, but as a marker: something’s about to give way, whether you’re ready for it or not.
We’re at exactly that kind of marker right now.
The axis is changing
For the last year and a half, eclipses have been running along the Pisces/Virgo axis, spiritual surrender on one side, obsessive organizing on the other. That cycle’s basically wrapped, its last eclipse was March 4, 2026. Today, On July 27th, the nodes shift into Aquarius and Leo, and eclipses move with them for the next two years. Different flavor entirely: less “let go,” more “who are you, actually, and are you willing to be part of something bigger than yourself.”
Mark these down:
17 February 2026
12 August 2026
2 August 2027
16/17 August 2027
26 January 2028
7 July 2028
Circle August 12, 2026 specifically. Total solar eclipse, first one mainland Europe has seen since 1999. The path also crosses Greenland, Iceland, and a stretch of nowhere in northern Russia, but Spain’s the only spot in mainland Europe that gets it. If you’ve ever needed an excuse to plan a trip around the sky, here it is.
What it means for you, by rising sign
Eclipses don’t hit everyone the same way, it depends on your rising sign, and it splits into six pairs.
Leo/Aquarius rising: self & partnership. This axis is landing directly on your own identity axis, expect the next two years to get very clear, very fast, on who you are and who you’re actually building a life with.
Virgo/Pisces rising: health, routine, the stuff nobody sees. Less glamorous, more load-bearing. This is the plumbing getting redone.
Libra/Aries rising: friendships and community. Expect your actual circle to reshuffle, plus maybe a little unexpected romance or creative spark along the way.
Scorpio/Taurus rising: home and career. The tug-of-war between your public ambition and your private life gets loud.
Sagittarius/Gemini rising: communication, learning, travel. Conversations, ideas, and probably a plane ticket or two.
Capricorn/Cancer rising: money, yours and shared. What’s actually yours, what you’re sharing, and what you value enough to fight for.
Before we move on, it’s worth clocking what’s actually wrapping up. The Virgo/Pisces eclipses have been running since September 2024: 16 September 2024, 15 March 2025, 7 September 2025, 21 September 2025, 4th March 2026. The final one in Pisces is happening on August 28 2026 and there is one final Virgo one on Feb 20th 2027.
Here’s what that cycle’s been stirring up, by rising sign:
Virgo/Pisces rising: self & partnership. That was your identity cycle. If the last year and a half felt like a full referendum on who you are and who you’re with, now you know why.
Leo/Aquarius rising: money, yours and shared. What’s yours, what’s owed, what you’re willing to merge with someone else.
Libra/Aries rising: health, routine, the stuff nobody sees. Work habits, health, what happens when no one’s watching, quietly getting rebuilt.
Scorpio/Taurus rising: friendships and creativity. Your circle, and what you make just for the joy of it, in flux.
Sagittarius/Gemini rising: home and career. The old tug between public path and private life.
Capricorn/Cancer rising: communication and belief. How you talk, what you believe, who you’re learning from.
None of that wraps up just because the axis is changing, eclipse themes keep resolving for months after the final one in a cycle. But the new Aquarius/Leo axis is where the energy’s headed next. Now you’ve got both halves of the story.
