As we enter the last full week of June, I find myself wondering how we got here so quickly. How is the year already halfway over? Is it already time to change the window display again? How is my calendar so full, my to-do list still growing, and that familiar feeling of being behind creeping back in?
After spending much of May recovering from a bout of shingles, I’ve become much more aware of the stress I allow into my daily life. While I’m grateful to be feeling like myself again, the experience reminded me that constantly rushing isn’t a badge of honor.
So lately, I’ve been practicing something different. I’m saying no more often. I’m driving slower. I’m spending quiet mornings with my coffee instead of jumping straight into work. I’m choosing adventures over extra gym sessions. I’m treating sleep like the gift it truly is.
And honestly? The world hasn’t fallen apart. If anything, I’m enjoying it more.
Whether you’re in your engagement era, deep in wedding planning, raising a family, building a career, or supporting the people you love, this is your reminder that you don’t have to carry everything all at once.
Let’s collectively take a breath this week. Let’s see how much we can remove from our plates instead of how much more we can add. Let’s create a little margin in our schedules. Let’s leave room for slow conversations, afternoon walks, and moments that don’t have a purpose beyond simply being enjoyed.
