Vanessa M Kromer · Maison Voyage | The Private Edit

One of my favorite parts of opening a beautiful magazine has never been the cover.

It’s knowing exactly where to turn next.

There’s comfort in familiarity.

The editor’s letter.

The travel essays.

The hotel recommendations.

The recurring columns you’ve grown to love.

You don’t simply read a magazine.

You return to it.

Over the past few weeks, as The Private Edit has quietly grown, I’ve found myself thinking less about individual posts and more about the publication I’m slowly building.

Because that’s what I want this to become.

Not another newsletter.

A publication.

The kind you look forward to opening.

The kind where every issue feels familiar, yet somehow still surprises you.

That realization changed something for me.

Instead of asking myself,

“What should I write next?”

I started asking,

“What should readers expect every time they arrive?”

That question has shaped everything you’re about to see.

Below, paid members of The Private Edit are getting a first look behind the curtain.

I’ll share the editorial blueprint I’m building, why every recurring series exists, and how each one reflects a different way of experiencing travel.

If you’ve ever wondered how magazines create a recognizable identity issue after issue, welcome to my notebook.
