This blog post covers journal pictures, the question of indexing and my personal journaling history and thoughts.
As you’ve probably guessed, this is not a “Here’s my system, you should use it for yourself too” blog post. It's more of a “Here’s my organized mess and pretty pictures with helpful links” post.
Unveiling a new direction and purpose, legacy keepsake services. Perfect gift for the holidays. Combining my love of people and interviewing into a new chapter of my life. In June, I had my 50th birthday, and that milestone made me think, "What do I want to do now?"
I remember my Dad had said, “Don't climb the to the top of the ladder just to discover its leaning against the wrong wall.”
What is worth saying? What is worth writing? What is worth listening to? What is worth reading about? What is worth expressing and why do so?
Humility has been on my radar lately. As a writer ad a podcaster its something I’ve been learning about and contemplating. In media and the arts, its important to build renown. Its part of building an audience and seems like the only way to build a career as a creative professional. Fame, its not just hungering for acknowledgment and special-ness, its how to pay the bills
The cardinal rule for any creator is to be interesting. For the chase for readers or viewers it critical to capture interest. That is the one common thing about media, (whether its books, articles, documentaries, videos on YouTube or blog posts like this one), it needs to be something interesting.
When I opened the package with my Geek friends and took out the proof copy of the book, it was surreal how the physical copy of the book was the embodiment of two years of work. We made this a reality together!
Here’s the scoop behind the Who, Why and What behind Nara Fellowship. Why do I think of myself as a bridge, a prism and the moon?
I started two YouTube Channels last month. Am I a fool to commit to two? Probably yes. But, I do have good reasons to do so.
Some women wear jewelry or fine clothing, I wear hats. Most of the time I color coordinate as best as I can. Which I wear depends on my mood as well. I imagine it’s very similar to how some women choose their scarves and pins. I have a plethora of caps. Some fancy, some simple, […]
We have a family friend who hates pickles. They stain everything they touch with their taste. Even if the waiter takes them off the plate, our friend can still tell and sends his burger or sandwich back. We tease him about it, but he’s right pickles make everything they touch taste like pickles. Maybe you […]
I have a younger brother. I’m 18 months older than him. We have a pretty good relationship. Even when we were young we got along pretty well. We were each other’s first friends and playmates. I used to be taller than him, but now he’s taller than me. When we were young, many people used […]
So what does this have to do with Jesus? I’ll get to that. Never fear, this isn’t some cliché bearing good fruits bible study thing. This rambling is more of a train of thought. “What if I’m a bad banana?” crept into my mind. With some tangential bananas themes popping up throughout this, whatever this thing is that I’m writing.
I have friends. Some are friends of my father and family. Some are my personal friends. Not everyone has friends. It's kinda like money, easy to make money when you have money. Easier to make friends when you have friends.
I’m going to stop and take a break now. Maybe I’ll get a little bowl of goldfish crackers. That was my dad’s writing snack. Yeah, see you in a minute. Well, I got my mom some goldfishes too. She laughed when I told her the name of the piece. She got a kick out of it when I explained I’m writing about writing. It feels good to make people laugh. My dad was good at that and so is my brother.
One of them was Paul Tournier's classic "The Meaning of Persons". Dr. Tournier was a Swiss physician, Christian counselor and author who lived from 1898 - 1986.
Herbs and other natural health remedies have various do’s and don’ts, so do essential oils. Just because a thunderstorm is natural doesn’t mean its safe to fly a kite or stand in the middle of a field with a long metal pole during one.
My dear friend Mrs. Laure Hittle is the mastermind behind Story Camp and the head librarian at Clearwater Church Library. I’m her willing minion in plotting for Story Camp and the Faith Libraries of Northern Colorado. What is Story Camp? Story Camp is a week-long VBS-style storycrafting adventure for elementary-aged kids. This is our fifth […]
