Welcome to the UOTI Newsletter!

The Universal Open Textbook Initiative (UOTI) is building the world’s largest repository of high-quality, multilingual, free textbooks. We believe access to learning materials should not depend on where you live, what language you speak, or what you can afford.

Here’s what’s new.

We published a new Arabic translation of Principles of Economics, one of the most widely used introductory economics textbooks. It’s available now for online reading, no download required.

This is our second Arabic textbook, joining Introduction to Python Programming from last month. More titles are on the way.

As we expand into more languages, we want to make sure every translation meets a high standard of quality. To achieve this, we’re looking for volunteer reviewers, native or proficient speakers who can read through a translated textbook and flag issues with accuracy or natural phrasing.

No special background is required beyond strong proficiency in the language. If you’re a student, teacher, or professional who reads in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Spanish, or Polish, we’d love your help.
