Welcome to UnicornPrn, the only podcast bold enough to peel back the glossy veneer of startup life and roast it over a flaming pile of pitch decks.
Hosted by Melissa Kwan and Lloyed Lobo, two founder friends who’ve seen the startup world from the inside out, upside down, and fully on fire. This show is your permission slip to say what every founder is really thinking but too afraid (or too funded) to admit out loud.
You know the lines:
"We're killin it!"
"We're changing the world!"
“We’re building autonomous AI agents to replace entire departments and unlock exponential scale.”
Hard pass.
This isn’t your average startup podcast. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s the stuff founders actually talk about behind closed doors, now out in the open.
🎧 Ep 1: The Internet is for UnicornPrn
How the pursuit of bloated valuations became a full-time job… and a part-time identity crisis.
🎧 Ep 2: Cofounder Confessions — Love, Lies, and Betrayal
Everything you wish someone told you before splitting equity over beers and vibes.
🎧 Ep 3: Venture Capital a Giant Ponzi Scheme
The game nobody wants to admit they're playing
🎧 Ep 4: Founder or Fraudster — Con Artists in the Boardroom
When charisma goes unchecked and due diligence goes missing.
🎧 Ep 5: These Hires Will Kill Your Company
The people you thought would grow your company, but quietly wrecked it… From corporate dinosaurs to Gen Zs who ghost.
🎧 Ep 6: Culture Fit is BS
Coz hiring people who won’t rock the boat is exactly how you sink it slowly.
🎧 Ep 7: Sh*t VCs Say
A highlight reel of the most passive-aggressive investor phrases we’ve heard.
🎧 Ep 8: Why Blue Ocean Will Drown You
Coz swimming alone in a market is not a GTM strategy.
🎧 Ep 9: 12 BS Advice You Must Ignore
“Fake it till you make it”? “Always be raising”? Let’s talk.
🎧 Ep 10: How to Lose Friends and Millions
From bad bets to generous regrets, we didn’t just waste money… we threw it a farewell party.
Just two founders who’ve been through the term sheets, the tantrums, and the late-night Slack spirals… and figured we might as well hit record.
Melissa Kwan is the Cofounder and CEO of eWebinar, and a 3-time bootstrapped founder who’s spent the last 14 years building companies without ever raising a cent of venture capital. Her last startup, a real estate tech company, was acquired in 2019. As a revenue-driven founder obsessed with doing more with less, she built teams by automating ruthlessly, outsourcing wisely, and inspiring people with a shared mission, not kombucha taps and beanbags..
After years stuck in a soul-crushing loop of repeating the same webinar over and over again, Melissa created eWebinar — not just as a product, but as a protest against wasting your life on Zoom.
Her philosophy?
Design your life first, then build a business that fits it.
Lloyed Lobo is a WSJ bestselling author of From Grassroots to Greatness, Cofounder of Boast.AI, and Cofounder of the Traction founder community, which grew to over 100,000 entrepreneurs. He helped bootstrap Boast.AI to eight-figure revenue using Community-Led Growth, and has since served as a startup advisor, angel investor, board member, and LP in multiple VC funds — so he’s seen startup chaos from both sides of the term sheet.
He also survived the Gulf War as a refugee in Kuwait, which he’ll tell you was somehow less stressful than some of his board meetings.
His motto?
“If you build a community, you won’t become a commodity.”
To open the kimono of startup life and give founders the unfiltered truth so you can build smarter, not just louder.
We riff about all the things you wish you could say out loud but can’t or won’t like investor horror stories, founder mistakes and bloated valuations.
Warning: These unfiltered conversations are highly opinionated, brutally honest, and politically incorrect. If you're easily offended… now’s your chance to close this tab and go back to writing your next investor update on Notion.
No sugarcoating. No LinkedIn humblebrags. Just truth, chaos, and laughs.
