Hello advocates! We hope you’re well. After a few weeks of analyzing the data and reading about your global events and initiatives, it is our pleasure to share with you the outcomes of the 2025 UHC Day campaign.
Thanks to your energy, creativity and persistence, UHC Day 2025 – with its focus on youth engagement – reached further than ever before. Engagement surged across all social media platforms, with messaging and visuals seen by millions of people worldwide. Media coverage was truly unprecedented—over 4,000 media mentions in 135 countries, up from 740 in 74 countries the year before. These aren’t just numbers; they represent conversations sparked, narratives shifted and pressure applied where it matters.
We also celebrated UHC Champions in a new and more visible way, with dedicated profile pages highlighting the real-world contributions of advocates and leaders driving change in their communities. And critically, more than 50 governments made concrete UHC commitments, a significant increase from 30 in 2024. At a time when many feel powerless in the face of global challenges, this is clear evidence that voices raised together can still move political will.
This growing Substack community is another sign of momentum. Subscriptions, views and geographic reach all increased, as advocates around the world engaged deeply with this year’s focus on social participation—a reminder that UHC is not just about systems, but about the people shaping them.
In a world that often suggests change is impossible, this global UHC community continues to prove otherwise. Your voice matters. Your advocacy matters. And together, we are shaping a healthier, fairer future.
What would you like to see coming from this year’s campaign? Please feel free to share your thoughts and expectations in the comments below, and stay tuned later this year for updates on the 2026 campaign and how to engage!
