I built a product store from scratch. Here's what actually happened.

TynkrTools & Co · TynkrTools & Co

A few weeks ago I didn’t have a website.

I had ideas. I had some half-formed thoughts about what kind of products I wanted to build. I had a vague sense that I wanted to help creators and solopreneurs get their finances and workflows under control. But I didn’t have a site, I didn’t have a store, and I honestly wasn’t sure what I was doing.

So I started figuring it out.

The first problem was the products themselves. What do people actually need? What’s worth building? I kept coming back to two things — creators who are winging their business operations with a notes app and a prayer, and everyday people who have never had a real system for managing their money. Two different audiences, two different product lines, one brand.

That became Tynkr Tools & Co.

The Creator OS line is a set of Notion templates — five systems that cover the parts of a creator business that usually live in your head or get dropped entirely. Content planning. Client and deal tracking. Finance. Product management. Launch execution. Each one is its own workspace. All five together are a full operating system for running a creator business.

The Consumer line is spreadsheets. Excel and Google Sheets workbooks for the financial milestones most people navigate without any real tools. Right now that’s a 23-tab Ultimate Budget Workbook and a 15-tab Home Buying & Mortgage Workbook. Real systems, not templates you fill in once and forget about.

Then came the website.

I had never built one. I knew what I wanted it to look like — clean, dark, product-focused — but I had no idea how to actually make that happen. I ended up using Claude to help me build it, and I want to be honest about what that looked like. It wasn’t “AI did everything.” It was a lot of back and forth. A lot of explaining what I wanted, getting something close, figuring out what was wrong, explaining it differently. A few weeks of that. The site is live now at builtbyjoshstudio.com and I’m genuinely proud of it, but it was work.

Here’s what’s live right now on Etsy:

Creator OS Templates — Content OS, Business OS, Finance OS, Launch OS, Product OS, and the Full Stack bundle. Each one is a complete Notion workspace, one-time purchase, works with a free Notion account.

Spreadsheet Workbooks — Ultimate Budget Workbook and Home Buying & Mortgage Workbook. Both available in Excel and Google Sheets.

And here’s what’s coming very soon:

Free lite versions of everything.

Every product is getting a stripped-down free version — one or two core modules for the Notion templates, the essential tabs for the spreadsheets. Genuinely useful on their own. And when you’re ready for the full system, there’ll be an upgrade discount waiting for you inside every free version.

The idea is simple. I’d rather let you try the thing before you buy it. If it’s useful you’ll upgrade. If it’s not, at least you got something for free and I didn’t waste your time.

I’ll post again when the free versions go live. In the meantime the full versions are on Etsy and on the website.

Thanks for following along. More soon.
