“Therefore accept one another, even as Christ also accepted you, to the glory of God.” — Romans 15:7
Romans 15:7 calls believers to a powerful expression of Christian love and unity. Paul instructs Christians to accept one another, not based on personal preferences, backgrounds, personalities, or levels of spiritual maturity, but according to the example of Christ Himself.
The standard is remarkably high: “even as Christ also accepted you.” When we consider how Christ received us, this command takes on deeper meaning. Jesus did not accept us because we were worthy, perfect, or deserving. He welcomed us while we were sinners in need of His grace. Through His sacrifice on the cross, He brought us into God’s family and made us His own.
Because we have received such undeserved grace, we are called to extend grace to others. The church is made up of people with different experiences, strengths, weaknesses, and convictions. Unity does not require uniformity. Instead, it requires hearts that are willing to show patience, understanding, and love toward fellow believers.
Paul also reminds us of the ultimate purpose behind this acceptance: “to the glory of God.” When Christians genuinely love and receive one another, they reflect the character of Christ to the world. Such unity becomes a testimony to the transforming power of the gospel.
In a culture often marked by division and conflict, believers have the opportunity to demonstrate a different way—one rooted in grace, humility, and love.
Consider whether there is someone you have struggled to accept or show grace toward. Ask God to help you see that person through the lens of the grace you have received in Christ.
Lord, thank You for accepting me through Your grace.
Help me extend grace and love to others.
Let my relationships bring glory to You.
Other Worlds, Same God — This book does not argue that intelligent life elsewhere has been confirmed. It does not predict what disclosed materials will eventually reveal.
