Hello everyone, Karen here! I have two weddings coming up this summer : one is a civil wedding in Paris; the other is a wedding extravaganza in Sevilla. Very different settings, very different energy, and therefore very different dresses.
Below are the pieces I’m considering for each event. Consider this a group effort: I want your opinions and your favourites. And if you’re also navigating wedding guest season, maybe you’ll discover a dress or two along the way.
Whenever I’m looking for something that feels both romantic and a little bit edgy, I always find myself coming back to Réalisation.
This dress feels particularly special. The midi length makes it perfect for a civil wedding, while the silhouette still feels effortless and cool. It’s also the kind of piece I know I’ll reach for long after the wedding season is over, which makes it feel like a worthwhile investment. Shop Here
Meshki is always on my radar during summer event season. They do beautiful occasion dresses at a price point that is fair for the quality.
This one immediately caught my eye because of the colour and the length. It’s elegant and easy. That said, part of me wonders if it’s almost too safe. I love it, but I’m not sure it’s the most exciting option in the lineup. Shop here
I fell in love with this one instantly. It’s the perfect mix of chic and cool.
I love the combination of blue and brown, it’s unexpected but works so well together. My only hesitation is the maxi length. Is it a little too dressed up for a civil wedding? Maybe. Then again, I’ve never been afraid of being overdressed. Shop here
The Vincenza Dress by Rat & Boa
Rat & Boa has been a summer staple in my wardrobe for as long as I can remember. Their dresses always have the right balance between statement and effortless.
I love this blue option. Blue is one of my favourite colours to wear to weddings, and I can already picture myself rewearing this dress all summer long, from dinners out to holidays in the sun. So it’s a great investment ! Shop here
The Fernanda Dress by Arcina Ori
One of the most beautiful dress brands from Australia. As I’ve already mentioned, I can’t resist a baby blue moment for a wedding, so this one immediately caught my eye.
This dress is a real showstopper. The colour and the silhouette, everything works. My only hesitation is the long draped detail on the shoulder. It’s stunning for a special event, but I’m not sure how much wear I’d get out of it beyond the wedding season. Shop Here
I also think a mini dress works really well for a civil wedding, and I found these two at Reformation.
The green one is in linen, which I love for summer, it feels chic, effortless, and so much more comfortable in the Paris heat. The blue satin version is also a favourite. I love the retro feel of the silhouette, and I can already imagine styling it with strappy sandals for something a little more fun and sexy.
The Santina Dress By Arcina Ori
I feel like this style and colour is perfect for a summer wedding in Sevilla.
I’d style it with statement earrings and a pair of strappy heeled sandals for a more dressed-up look. What I also love is that it’s the kind of dress that can easily be worn again, just with flats for a nice dinner or date night. Shop Here
The Satin Slinky Gown by Because of Alice
Because of Alice is a brand that offers very beautiful dresses at great prices!
I’ve been really into zebra print lately, and this one is such a beautiful take on it. The beige contrast makes it feel chic and understated rather than too loud.
I love how simple it is in the front, but then it reveals that gorgeous cowl back. I’d style it with a statement red necklace or earrings to bring a bit of that Spanish energy into the look. Shop Here
The Chiffon Floral Maxi Dress by Selezza
I am in LOVE with this piece! I think it’s the perfect fit for a wedding in Sevilla, it has such a unique feel while still being so timeless. I already know it’s one of those pieces I’ll wear again and again, and one I’ll want to keep in my closet forever.
This style also comes in white, which I think is such a beautiful option if you’re in your bridal era. Shop Here.
The Vivienne Dress by Rat and Boa
I don't usually gravitate towards pink, but this shade paired with this silhouette is the perfect match. I love how the racerback gives such a cool, effortless feel to an otherwise elegant long dress. Shop here.
I actually tried this dress on at Selfridges in London a few months ago, and what I loved most was the color and the silhouette. The length is also perfect as it hits right at the ankle, which makes it so easy to dance in at a wedding. I also know that I will wear it again in the summer with flat sandals, which I always love when investing in a special piece.
One thing to note: it runs a little big. I’m usually an XS, but I’d definitely go for the XXS in this one. Shop here.
I hope this edit gave you a little inspiration for your next wedding guest look. Which outfit was your favorite for each wedding? Let me know in the comments.
Bisous, Bisous,
Karen.
