Twenty Years Later… and We’re Not Going Anywhere

Twenty years ago, in the summer of 2006, Triumph Comics launched with our inaugural title: Codename: Black Death.

In 2006, Agents of Talon was solicited and gaining momentum, even earning coverage from Wizard Magazine and Comic Buyer’s Guide. Around that same time, Devil’s Claw—the first (and still only) book I’ve written—was also solicited and scheduled for release.

But life and finances don’t always follow a publishing schedule.

Some things had to wait.

What never stopped was the development. The ideas. The belief that these stories would eventually find their moment.

Crowdfunding helped make that possible.

In 2020, Agents of Talon finally reached readers. In 2021, Devil’s Claw followed. Books that were once delayed by circumstance finally became reality with direct support from fans.

And that proved something important.

Triumph Comics never went away.

We just took a break while the industry—and the tools available to creators—changed.

We also admittedly don’t take the easy route. From the beginning, the goal has been to create comics that feel fresh, bold, and a little different. Sometimes that means stepping into spaces other creators avoid—like political satire—but that mentality is exactly what helps independent creators stand out.

In this new world order of comics, we feel more empowered than ever to create books that frankly aren’t anything like what’s already out there.

Take Donald’s Defenders, where comics collide with political satire.

Or another title we’re currently developing that leans into just how absurd the modern multiverse has become… because now it feels like everything, everywhere is canon.

Twenty years later—and we meant it. We’re not going anywhere.
