Can you practice therapy and support MAGA?

A few days ago, a video made the rounds on TikTok from a guy named @therapyJeff that stopped us cold. He argued that you cannot be MAGA and ethically practice therapy. Full stop.

What are the implications of MAGA supporters who practice therapy? Are they inherently causing harm and therefore practicing out of scope?

We can see why Jeff’s emotional manifesto went viral (you’ll see it in our video.) But after asking ourselves if we are ready to deal with any backlash from daring to disagree, we decided that we can’t keep our heads in the sand.

The algorithm may not reward us.

If the therapy field cannot hold complexity here, it has no business claiming it can heal division anywhere else.

Please do us a favor and don’t be silent. We want this to generate discussion, debate, and de-polarization within our field. Trying to de-escalate is boring to the algorithms...but the bots will notice if we hear from you!
