I’ve been thinking a lot about invisible battles. Nobody claps for them.
Publishing a book? People notice.
Launching a podcast? People notice.
But months of notes, outlines, messy drafts, and marketing grind? Silence.
So this time, I’m clapping for the invisible battles out loud—and sharing them with you. And in the past six months, I thought I had “nothing” to show for it. But then I looked closer…
Villain Us → Prologue + a messy Chapter One drafted, plus 40 pages of notes and outlines. It’s the start of a 5-book cybernoir heist saga, starring a crew of villains louder than my cats. Foundation is laid—the heist is in motion.
Arcane Arena → A whole second book in the works. I’ve built the framework and solid outlines for a reality-show-style fantasy series with its own game-world mechanics. The bones are strong, and the potential is huge.
Tangled Skein Video Stack → Not a new release, but my free-book funnel has been getting the spotlight in September. I’ve been stacking videos, promos, and content to keep fresh eyes finding their way into the Traveller’s Inn universe.
Content Tsunami → Over 120 one-liner videos, 2 dozen rants, 4 dozen podcast clips, and more. Most indie authors never produce this much marketing material in their career—I’ve built an arsenal while books simmer.
Survival Ledger → Health hasn’t been a picnic (unstable angina, surgery looming). But I cut out alcohol, fought my blood pressure, and stayed alive. I’ve “lost the same 8 pounds five times,” but I didn’t spiral. Still standing. Still writing.
The Hard Truth (using my coach voice, grit):
I didn’t hit the goals I set. No two or three new books. No shiny podcast revival. No audiobooks recorded. On paper, it looks like failure.
But the real wins are survival, momentum, and groundwork. And those matter more than zeroes on a scoreboard.
Here’s where I need your input:
Villain Us → A gritty, cybernoir heist story. Multiple POVs, snarky narrator, a crew of misfits taking on impossible jobs—and eventually the richest man in the world. Think Ocean’s 11 with cyberpunk and sarcasm.
Arcane Arena → A LitRPG-style fantasy series set in the Traverse Reality. Contestants battle it out in a deadly magical arena, with mechanics that twist expectations. Think Hunger Games meets Dungeon Crawler Carl.
