The bored and listless Helmi learns her cat, Hams, can talk, and takes her on adventures. Things get weirder from there. These comics are mostly an excuse to draw characters exploring different settings and interacting with each other. I hope you enjoy them, too. There will be dark themes like death, mental illness and, as the title suggests, trauma, so please tread carefully.
sucks having to make this blog entry but I've been struggling with depression and other issues, making art has been next to impossible. so I'm going to have to ride this out. I was hoping to start thumbnailing before TRAUM's second anniversary, but that's not going to be happening. maybe I'll acknowledge it after the fact, but, yeah. take it easy, folks.
Two illustrations. First one has Helmi inside a ring with a star field background, and a big glowing 20 above her. Second one has Hams standing on a checkerboard floor cloaked in yellow fog, reflecting a vast starry sky in it.
Helmi looks at the dream journal. Next day. HELMI: Hey. Hams. HAMS: ...Hm? HELMI: You happen to know what dreamscapes are? Hams is in the middle of checking Wedge's notebook and has a goofy expression on their face.
HELMI: Dream... ...scapes? MERI: Yeah! You see, Meri is very experienced with lucidity and left this message for you to find in case---- oh no please don't wake up yet! Wait! Please! There are still so many things I want to tell you The dream is fading into mist.
MERI: Sadly, I'm not the actual Meri, just a dream projection. HELMI: I... I figured. MERI: However, you're lucid now, which means you can enter dreamscapes!
Meri opens her eyes and is excited. She emits starry sparkles like a fairy. MERI: Helmi! Helmi is visibly moved. HELMI: Meri... Meri embraces Helmi. MERI: Oh lovey! It's been so long!
