(If you don’t have time for the reading of this, you can hear it in its audio glory in the Article Voiceover above)

No Big News, Just the Daily is intended to be short random musings I have on the daily that turn into a post from time to time. Maybe weekly, maybe more often. Mom observations. Self observations. World assessments. All my own and my choice to share. Your choice to read. Not your cup of hydration? Feel free to pass. Trying this Substack thing to record my being in my world with my beings and fiddling with the ways I get to put it out there. Sip or skip. Feel free to show love even in the quietest of ways, but felt nonetheless, by subscribing and following.

Don’t be fooled by the title. However your brain might take you, it’s not that. Well, maybe it is. But likely not. But, well, maybe.

As I was driving my kid home after his tennis practice, this black Lexus kept swerving into my lane, over the line, as if it was hoping to grab a hold of my hand so we could cruise down the stretch of the road fingers intertwined.

In a surprise reaction, I sputtered out, “Stay in your lane you.. Butt..” and my brain seemed to fumble with sounds and letters and then… as suddenly as it formulated, in less than lightening speed, I exclaimed,

“Stay in your lane, you BUTTHEAD!”

What is this?

I’m in my 40s and I’m sure there are more sophisticated or expletive options that could have abound. Is this perimenopause? Is this what the brain sputters out in the heat of a moment now? Seriously. Asking for a friend.

Eh, fine. Unabashedly, asking for me, because as we all can see, that story was written in first person.
