It’s hard to overstate the reach of Queen Elizabeth II. The British queen’s reign encompassed 70 years of history and easily made her one of the most influential monarchs of the modern era. It’s hardly a surprise then, that so many of her nearest and dearest have chosen to pay homage to her over the years with the names of their daughters. In fact, nearly a dozen royal ladies count the late queen as a namesake, including her own daughter and all but one of her granddaughters.
With the latest addition to the royal family—Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s daughter, Adelaide—carrying on the tradition, here’s a full rundown of all of the royal babies who were named after Queen Elizabeth, from youngest to oldest:
Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank
The latest royal daughter to carry on Queen Elizabeth’s name, baby Adelaide is the daughter of Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank. Eugenie herself is the daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly styled Prince Andrew) and Sarah Ferguson, making her one of Elizabeth’s granddaughter—and the only one not to bear the queen’s name herself.
Born in Portugal on August 3, 2026, where the family lives part-time, the couple waited a few weeks before revealing their daughters name on Instagram. “We are so happy to share Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank. Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts,” Eugenie wrote in the caption for a set of photos including Adelaide and her two older brothers, August and Earnest. “Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home.”
Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi
Eugenie is not the only one of Elizabeth’s granddaughters to carry on the family name with her children—her sister Princess Beatrice also imparted the name to her daughter when she was born on January 22, 2025. And while she’s currently the youngest of Beatrice’s kids (following her sister Sienna and half brother Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf Mapelli Mozzi) to carry Elizabeth’s name, she’s not the only one of the siblings to have it...
Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi
When it comes to a middle name with special, personal significant, clearly Princess Beatrice saw no problem with double-dipping. Her older daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, born in September 2021, also has Elizabeth as her middle name, in a nod to Beatrice’s beloved royal grandmother.
Princess Lilibet of Sussex
While there’s no shortage of “Elizabeth”s on this list, Princess Lilibet holds a unique distinction in bearing a different nominal homage to her great-grandmother. Born on June 4, 2021, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lilibet got her name from Queen Elizabeth’s childhood nickname.
In fact, Lili, as she’s known to her family, was born with the name Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor—like her big brother Prince Archie, she was not styled with a royal title until 2023, after her grandfather, King Charles, took the throne.
Lena Elizabeth Tindall

Lena Tindall earlier this year.
While Lena Elizabeth Tindall may be the second of Zara and Mike Tindall’s three children, she’s the first to bear Queen Elizabeth’s name (her older sister Mia has the middle name Grace). Born on June 18, 2018, her mother, Zara is the only daughter of Princess Anne—herself the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth. Like her mother and siblings, she doesn’t carry a royal title, but is often seen at public royal events alongside her family.
Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana

Princess Charlotte at Trooping the Colour.
Considering that her father, Prince William, is the heir to the throne, it’s only natural that Princess Charlotte’s name would have some royal history to it. In fact, William and Kate Middleton named their daughter in homage to two beloved royal women: William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and his mother, the late Princess Diana.
Isla Elizabeth Phillips

Isla at her father’s second wedding.
Though her older sister Savannah may have snagged the distinction of being Queen Elizabeth’s first great-grandchild, Isla was the first of the generation to bear her name. The daughter of Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips and his ex-wife Autumn Kelly, Isla was born on March 29 2012—a particularly auspicious year, as it was Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee year, marking six decades on the throne.
Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor

Lady Louise in 2026.
Queen Elizabeth's youngest granddaughter, Lady Louise, was born less than a decade before Elizabeth’s oldest great-grandchild. The firstborn of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh (they also share a son, James, Earl of Wessex), Louise was given the full name Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary when she was born in 2003.
While she has the legal right to use the title princess, her parents left it up to her and her brother to decide for themselves whether or not to do so when they came of age. “We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living. Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles,” Sophie told The Sunday Times in 2020. “They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely.”
Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary

The eldest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s two daughters, Beatrice was born in 1988 and was given the middle name Elizabeth in honor of her grandmother. The two shared a close bond over the years, with Beatrice even wearing a dress borrowed from the queen for her small, pandemic-era wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, as well as the same tiara Elizabeth wore to her own 1947 wedding to Prince Philip. In fact, they remained so close throughout the queen’s later years that both of Beatrice’s daughters also bear the middle name Elizabeth.
Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall

Zara at Royal Ascot.
Olympiad Zara owes her middle names to her direct royal female line—her mother, Princess Anne, and her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. It’s far from the only thing she has in common with her forebears, including, notably, their mutual love of horses. Elizabeth was famous for her affection for riding, keeping up the hobby well into her 90s, meanwhile Anne went so far as to compete in the 1976 Olympics equestrian event, a tradition Zara carried on in 2012 when she and the British equestrian team won silver.
With her husband, Mike, Zara has three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas, one of whom, Lena, carried on the tradition of being named for Queen Elizabeth.
Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise

Princess Anne.
The first of the royal ladies to carry on the Elizabeth tradition from the iconic queen was, naturally, her daughter, Princess Anne. Of course, with her middle name, Anne was simply carrying on an existing tradition; Queen Elizabeth herself shared the name with her own mother, the Queen Mother Elizabeth Boyes-Lyon. It’s certainly one that Anne has carried on, imparting the name to her daughter, Zara, and in turn her granddaughter, Lena.
