Over the last 10 days, we have raised $7,600 to help bring this book, Roots Deeper than Whiteness, to life. When added to the $7,500 of early donations, this brings our total to $15,100.
We’re now over 20% of the way to our end goal.
I’m sending deep gratitude to each of the 45 donors who contributed over the last week and a half. Your early support means so much.

I want to take a moment now to share more about one of the many “thank you gifts” within this fundraiser. This one is available to all donors. It’s an invitation to a special virtual book event that will be held twice. You can attend whichever works best for your schedule. All donors will also receive a video recording of the event.
It will take place at the following times:
Thursday, October 30th | 7:30-9:30pm ET (4:30-6:30 PT)
Sunday, November 2nd | 4-6pm ET (1-3 PT)
When we gather together, I’ll share more about the book’s vision and my writing journey, create some space for sharing and connection, and read aloud from some of the chapters already written.

A behind-the-scenes look at the book’s purpose, its importance in these times, the journey of writing it, and this fundraising effort.
Live readings from selected, already-completed chapters.

For those who missed the launch email, I’m raising $75,000 to allow me to finish writing my book, Roots Deeper than Whiteness, over the next 15 months. The book is meant to offer those of us who are white a renewed vision of anti-racism based in true solidarity and the reclamation of who we really are.
