红眼树蛙（redeyed treefrog）把卵产在池塘上方的叶片上，蝌蚪孵化后可以直接掉入水中。正常孵化时间是第六或第七天。研究者观察猫眼蛇攻击卵团时，发现蛇刚咬住几枚卵，周围胚胎就开始提前孵化，有些甚至会从蛇嘴里逃出。四日龄胚胎已经能完成这个过程。这里有一个很具体的问题：雨、风和脚步也会摇动叶片，胚胎怎样分辨哪一种振动需要立即孵化？
