Eno Thereska on Agentic Security and DevRel

This is the first episode of a series I’m reluctant to really call a podcast, because I am not going to commit to any kind of regular cadence. However, sometimes a conversation is good enough that it’s worth recording, which is what happened with me and Eno. But back to Eno. Apparently seventy percent of security vulnerabilities are introduced before you write your first line of code, and I don’t just mean code _I_ write. Eno said that’s true in general, and there’s little reason to believe that things will get better just becauase we have AI now. Developers who gave short shrift to security considerations last summer still will now, even with Claude writing most of their code. Eno’s startup, Trent.ai, aims to fix this.

And of course we talked about DevRel: when (and if) early-stage startups should make their first DevRel hire, the elevated role trust plays in the age of AI, and the flexibility of the developer advocate skillset in a growing organization. Eno is a brilliant guy, and I’m grateful he was willing for our conversation to be recorded.
