I’ve got a question for all of you, and I hope you will help me out by answering.
By ‘darker crime’ I mean more along the lines of Ashes to Ashes - where I got into the head of the killer in places.

This past week has been a lot of writing and a few days of rest and recuperation after I was swarmed by yellow jackets. I’ve started cleaning up the porch and getting stuff put away for the end of summer, and I moved a cushion in a stack of cushions on a chair and there was a massive yellow jacket nest between the cushions.
I’m okay now, but it was a rough couple of days.
The boys are doing fine and really loving the snuggle time when I sit on my new (used & free) loveseat. It’s hard for Ace to snuggle when I’m in the recliner because his beefy butt makes the footrest sink. Not a problem with the loveseat. Bear loves it because he can be high enough to watch all the things going on and stay above it all. Chess? He prefers on the recliner when I’m there - and when I’m not there.
One thing I will bring up and then I’m done - I do not use Generative AI in any of my work. It is 100% human created and produced. My covers are created by a human artist. I have had all of my work stolen by Anthropic - and because I didn’t register with the Library of Congress (it’s expensive and I didn’t have the resources then - nor do I now) I get nothing in the massive lawsuit. Nothing. All of my work was stolen and I’m just shit outta luck.
I’ve filed a complaint with Substack about their new ‘see if it’s AI’ test because the product they’re using has a VERY low success rate. It claimed the US Constitution was 94% AI generated. Yes, really. So, if you feel compelled to test my writing - know that A: I really don’t give a shit and B: I don’t use AI to write. I’m neurodivergent. I use em-dashes. And it may well say that my stuff is AI because they trained the AI on my work!
