I wake blinking to the sunlight spilling through the curtains and two warm bodies pressed right up against me.
The memories of last night flashed through my brain.
Fuck!
Gemma’s head is on my chest, hair long hair tickling my chin, her breathing slow and steady like she’s dead to the world, which she is. Sadie is curled into my side, one leg thrown over mine her small hand resting light on my stomach. For a few seconds, I just lie there, hardly daring to breathe not wanting to break the spell.
I squeeze my eyes shut.
Last night was unreal, there’s no doubt about it. It was everything I’d daydreamed about and then some, but now in the cold hard light of the morning, everything seems so stark and so real. I stare down at my gorgeous flatmates feeling unsure, and uneasy. What if they wake up and regret it?
What if they hate me.
What if things get awkward? What if they wanted us not to be flatmates anymore? What if I’ve ruined the best thing I’ve ever had just because we crossed the line from friends into fuckbuddies?
I need to pee so bad but I don’t move, I can’t bring myself to break the spell.
Sadie stirs first, her hand shifts on my stomach, fingers stretching, then she lifts her head, blinking slow and sleepily at me. A little smile tugs at her mouth as she stares at me, her dark eyes blurry.
“Morning,” she mumbles huskily.
I blush. She looks fucking incredible, even first thing in the morning with no make up and her hair looking like a birds nest.
“Morning.” I reply.
She stretches long and slow like a cat arching right into me, and I feel her breasts press soft against my ribs. “You’re overthinking.”
I frown.
“Am not.”
She makes a face
“You are. You’ve gone all stiff, and not the good kind of stiff.”
I huff out a breath. “Just… don’t want things to get weird.”
The corners of her eyes crinkle.
“Why would it be weird?”
My gaze slides away from hers, Sadie has the habit of staring at you with those gorgeous dark eyes until she’s satisfied with your answer. It never fails.
“Because we—” I drop my voice. “We did had a threesome, Sadie. It’s not exactly the flatmate thing to do is it?”
Gemma shifts beside me, patting my chest lazily. “I’m awake,” she mutters. “And I heard that.” She lifts her head, her blue eyes peering at me. “Alex. Nothing’s weird. Nothing’s changed. Stop worrying about nothing.”
I wish I could be as nonchalant about it as they are but obviously, that isn’t going to happen.
“Everything’s changed though, hasn’t it?”
“Yeah,” Sadie says, propping herself up on one elbow. “But changed for the better.” She leans down and kisses me quick, soft. “I don’t regret a single second. Do you?”
“God no. Never.”
“Then stop stressing.” She swings her legs out of bed, completely naked, and stretches again. I can’t help but stare at the curve of her back, the slope of her ass, and I feel myself getting hard under the duvet. “I’m making coffee. You want some?”
