Kylie Harber · Tiny Giraffe

If you’re reading this, you’re already my favourite.

Why?

Because we share a love of memorable art and meaningful travel. I don’t take it lightly that I get to be in your inbox.

I think that’s what stops me from contacting you more often - the world is a noisy place and I don’t want to add to it.

I want to offer joyful inspiration - to remind you of the beautiful world we live in and encourage you to go on more adventures. To connect to nature. To find places that light you up!

(Feel free to screenshot my Chrysler Building artwork below as a phone wallpaper).

I want my emails to be like a cosy cup of chai - a moment of quiet contentment. Like those moments on holidays when the worries of everyday slip away. When the fun starts to creep back in. When you finally relax enough to hear yourself think.

It allows you to come home to yourself and realise what’s most important.

You. Your friends and family. Your dreams.

My dream was to create art for travel lovers like me.

Around this time, exactly 10 years ago, I was fumbling together a website for Tiny Giraffe. I pressed ‘publish’ on the 1st January 2016. It was basic and clumsy, but it was mine.

I need your help with a new dream.

I’ve been nominated for micro business of the year for Bulimba electorate’s small business awards. Yay!!

Vote for Tiny Giraffe

It started with my husband, Jon.

He popped his head in my studio one day last week and said “I want to vote for you in a business award.”

I started crying.

He sees me put in the big days, the long hours and the endless effort towards making my business an emotionally rewarding and financially sustainable endeavour. He is my number 1 cheerleader. To be encouraged by him is amazing and to be recognised in my community is the best feeling.

I would very much appreciate if you could take a minute to vote for Tiny Giraffe in the micro business category :)

Vote for Tiny Giraffe

Today has been a special one.

I’ve just returned home from the Nundah Suburban Business Hub for a photoshoot with Councillor Allan for my newest mural.

Your vote will make my day extra special! You’ll find Tiny Giraffe in the ‘micro business’ section - and if you’re local to the area you might win a $100 voucher.

Love,
Kylie + Mr G x

PS. Thank you for supporting me, and for being here, as I approach 10 years of Tiny Giraffe - and 4 years since I quit my corporate job. If you’re wondering what I do every day in my business - here are some of the ways I spend my days, and no two days are the same.

I wear many hats and I look forward to the day I can hire more help!

  • Drive here, there and everywhere all over Brisbane and beyond, measuring walls, chatting to clients and overseeing installations

  • Meetings over Google Meet - BYO coffee (or wine)

  • Chai dates with clients and collaborators (in-person is so nice)

  • Create new patterns for my wallpaper design collection

  • Create bespoke art prints, illustrations, patterned wallpapers and murals

  • Write proposals and invoice clients

  • Present art concepts to clients

  • Prepare mock-ups of artworks on walls

  • Talk to printers, framers, wallpaper installers and art hangers

  • Post artworks and send wallpaper samples

  • Take photos of completed projects

  • Create stories, videos and posts for social media

  • Write blog posts and case studies for magazine features

  • Update my website and portfolio

  • Public speaking and events (I have an exciting one coming in November to share with you!)

  • Book keeping and paying taxes.

  • And of course, travel for inspiration (or wherever my projects take me - I’m dreaming of an overseas client!!)
