While much of my work is centered around exposing Christian Nationalism, I am also deeply interested in theology and the Bible.

As a former evangelical I inhaled all of the arguments leading apologists had to offer as they were emphatic that there is ample historical proof for a historical resurrection that grounds us in the certainty of the Christian faith being empirically true over other religions.

While I’m still very much a christian, I no longer believe in these kinds of arguments and this video shows exactly why. It’s a debate between Bart Ehrman and Justin Bass. One is a leading critical scholar (Bart), the other is an apologist who wrote a book called bedrock that demonstrates the veracity of the 4 gospel accounts. However as you’ll see through the debate, Justin’s arguments are incredibly weak and rely on circular reasoning.

I share this not to destroy your faith but simply to demonstrate that from where I stand. apologists are using the wrong lens to look at the Christian faith through.

I hope you enjoy this video and P.S the stream go cut off abruptly due to my internet crashing but you can watch the whole replay on my YouTube channel.
