We were in Seattle. Grey sky, grey sidewalks, grey (or brown) coffee cups in pale hands — you know the vibe. Chiara did not care. Chiara had a mission.
She was deep in her pink era.
And I don’t mean a casual preference. I mean the word pink alone would send her into a full-body joy response that made strangers on the street stop and involuntarily smile. You couldn’t help it. It was like watching someone win the lottery every single time someone mentioned a color.
So out we went, and what I didn’t realize until we were already halfway down the block was that we weren’t just going for a walk. We were going on a pink expedition.
And Seattle delivered.
Pink graffiti. Pink objects just sitting on the ground like they’d been placed there by a very whimsical universe. A pink car. Pink houses. Pink flowers, pink garden ornaments, pink shoes on a stranger’s feet, pink hair on a woman who clearly understood the assignment, and yes… a pink neon kitty butt. Pink everywhere — and I mean everywhere — in a city I had walked through hundreds of times and apparently never actually seen.
Then we wandered into a little smoothie shop tucked away only to be discovered on magical days like this. The woman behind the counter took one look at Chiara, felt the energy, and made her a pink smoothie.
For free.
I stood there watching my daughter hold this pink smoothie like it was a completely natural outcome of being alive — because to her, it was — and I had a minor spiritual crisis on the spot.

She didn’t manifest pink by trying. She manifested it by being so completely, unshakeably certain that pink was everywhere, so genuinely delighted by each new sighting, that the whole world just... leaned in. Including one very charmed smoothie shop owner in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
No vision board. No scripting. No second-guessing. Just love for a color so pure and total that reality rearranged itself to keep the conversation going.
And the most exquisite part? Every single pink thing she found — the hundredth one, the pink smoothie, all of it — she received with the exact same wonder as the first. As if the universe had done something extraordinary just for her.
Which, of course, it had.

What she knows:
Certainty is magnetic.
Delight is the receipt.
The universe is just waiting to be appreciated.
More Pink below! This is for Chiara…
