Cowboy, take me directly to the venue, because The Chicks are back on the road. The country icons have announced the Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour, set to kick off in September in Detroit.
While The Chicks’ self-titled album has a special place in my ‘90s kid heart — I’ll never put down “Wide Open Spaces,” “There’s Your Trouble,” or “I Can Love You Better” — it was Taking the Long Way that earned The Chicks Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year at the Grammys. They weren’t ready to make nice, and it paid off!
For anyone else eager to see Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Strayer back onstage together, you can sign up to join the Artist Presale now through Sunday, May 31 at 11:59 p.m. PT. The Artist Presale will take place on Wednesday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. local time, followed by the general ticket sale on Thursday, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
After the tour opener in Detroit, The Chicks will hit Chicago, New York City, Nashville, San Antonio, Austin, Seattle, and San Francisco, finishing off the tour with two nights in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theatre. Not sure about y’all, but I’m personally ready to RUN for this one.

No Doubt kicked off their Sphere Las Vegas residency on May 6 with a super tight, high-energy show. The setlist featured just about every song you’d want to hear from a band that hasn’t properly toured in 14 years, including “Spiderwebs,” “Ex-Girlfriend,” “The Climb,” “Don’t Speak,” “Trapped in a Box,” and, of course, “Just a Girl.” One of my favorite parts of the show was the archival footage and never-before-seen interviews projected across Sphere’s massive screen — along with the stuffed No Doubt oranges that fell from the ceiling (sadly, I didn’t catch one). We gladly didn’t miss last calls for An Evening with PinkPantheress when the 2026 North American tour touched down for two nights at The Anthem on the Washington, D.C. harbor on May 3 and 4. Bookmarked between the two Fancy That standouts (“Illegal” and “Stateside”), the British singer, songwriter and producer added choreography to the live set and reached full ascendance as an angel during a ballad break for her 2023 Barbie single “Angel.” Catch PinkPantheress later in 2026 with live dates at San Francisco’s Outside Lands and stops for An Evening with PinkPantheress in Europe. – Bryan, Content Writer
Vanessa Carlton is currently on tour around the release of her latest album Veils, which came out in April, and the concerts are more intimate than you’d expect. Featuring just Carlton, a microphone, and a piano on stage, the show I saw at City Winery in NYC on May 16 recently felt like a taping of VH1 Storytellers. She gave the crowd insight into nearly every song she performed, from hits like “Ordinary Day” and “A Thousand Miles” to deep cuts like “House of Seven Swords.” Carlton does not tour frequently, so catch these special shows while you can. –Nick, Senior Editor
Everybody needs somebody and last weekend, lucky F1 fans had Bryan Adams. The Ontario-born rock icon took over the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix on May 23 for a headlining show featuring classics like “Run to You,” “18 Til I Die,” “Heaven,” and a solo version of his 1984 duet with the late, great Tina Turner, “It’s Only Love.” The post-Qualifying spectacle at Montreal’s famous Circuit Gilles Villeneuve also gave race weekend attendees a sneak peek at the upcoming summertime run of Adams’ ongoing Roll With the Punches Tour, and by the time he launched into the familiar strains of “Summer of ‘69,” the crowd was most certainly living out the best days of their lives. –Glenn, Content Writer
I headed to Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn last night to see Em Beihold (of “Numb Little Bug” and “Until I Found You” fame) perform songs from her very good debut album, Tales of a Failed Shapeshifter. Em is an incredible piano player—classically trained and it shows! Also loved her violinist-slash-guitarist. The Regina Spektor influence culminated in a great cover of “Us”; otherwise, it was banger after banger. Some of the songs on Em’s album remind me of MARINA, which is the highest compliment I could pay a rising pop singer. Go see her. –Gab, Head of Editorial

Another kickoff tomorrow, as rising country star Megan Moroney begins The Cloud 9 Tour in Columbus, Ohio. Catch “The Emo Cowgirl” on her first arena tour that’s set to hit more than 40 cities across North America. Go early for openers JP Saxe and Solon Holt.

New York’s annual Governors Ball returns the first weekend in June with a stacked lineup featuring headliners Lorde, Baby Keem, Stray Kids, Kali Uchis, A$AP Rocky, and Jennie. Must-sees on the lineup also include girl group KATSEYE, English indie rock band Wet Leg and New York’s own Geese.
…Mollie Elizabeth, who released the irresistibly playful single “Dog Eat Dog” this spring. It’s no surprise to learn that Mollie co-produced the track with Dean Reid, who has also worked with artists like Lana Del Rey and MARINA (yep, that’s two MARINA mentions in this newsletter); the song balances quirky carnival energy with precise, sharp lyrics and storytelling. Not everyone can invoke the Old Hollywood vibe with full confidence, but Mollie pulls it off here, and is gearing up for more releases in the coming months.
