My friend Nika joins The Weekly Stars pod for a conversation about the unprecedented astrology we're moving through in July. My thoughts for navigating it: one step at a time, lean into the creativity when you find it, and surrender to the chaos when you can't. July and August open a doorway into several years of systemic change. And we might see some seeds of a new era as early as this week. Seize each moment — with so many planets in air and fire signs, everything will move swiftly but also in spurts. Find your drive when you can.
The outer planets are making a series of connections (or "aspects") between July 15-24.
July 15: A summer of love and psychedelia brings back the '60s (the last Uranus-Neptune sextiles were 1966-68).
July 17: A techno-futurist version of the roaring '20s begins (last Uranus-Pluto trines were 1921-22).
July 20 Part 1: Euphoria! (TW) And panic at the disco. Jupiter trines Neptune in a creative fire sign leading to illusions but also faith.
July 20 Part 2: Jupiter opposes Pluto to usher in a tense combination of tech bro control, a populist revolution, and potential financial crises (the last Jupiter-Pluto oppositions were in 2013-14 when Indie America died and President Obama faced off the Tea Party).
July 21: A deep, investigative Scorpio Moon activates the outer planets all while Jupiter sextiles Uranus, an astrology of bold, shocking ideas.
July 24: A high-octane, visionary reinvention of the future welcomes back the delirious late '70s and early '80s (the last Neptune-Pluto sextiles were 1976-86).
Of the above list, two peak moments will likely be when Jupiter opposes Pluto on July 20 and the Moon enters Scorpio on July 21 (both U.S. Pacific time). The Moon's involvement will create a handle to the basket pattern, as you can see below. In Los Angeles, where this chart is based, the crescent Moon will be rising over the eastern horizon just as it perfects a square to Pluto:

Note that Venus is still near the South Node, which itself will change signs only five days after this chart. Mars remains within range of its ongoing activation to Uranus. And the Sun is in the final day of Cancer season, close enough to Jupiter to shine a light on its opposition to Pluto.
