Before we begin, just a little note from me. For those of you who might be joining for the first time, if you have heard the sponsor segment at the beginning of the podcast, you might have noticed that this is not my normal voice. I've had a bad cough for the past two weeks that just won't go away.
I just thought I'd flag it and reassure you that the rest of the recording will be my usual uncroaky voice.
The guest of today's episode is the endlessly entertaining Emily Pun, founder of Den and the face behind the Instagram account doingupden. Like many of us in the online interiors community, Emily created her account during the pandemic, whilst renovating her Victorian London home.
Since then, she has built a loyal community, which has led her to create her own supper club, Denbigh Dates (which she describes as a sort of support group for people going through renovation) and eventually launching her own business, Den, a platform designed to make home renovation feel less overwhelming.
This conversation takes a wild journey. We start by talking about her background in interior architecture, how being fired from her corporate job led her to start her own business, and how she's learning a new apocalypse-related skill each year.
This conversation was recorded almost 9 months ago (Halloween 2025), so some time has passed, but all the topics covered in the conversation are still very much relevant.
If you enjoy the conversation as much as I did, I would so appreciate it if you could take a minute of your time to let us know by leaving a message, a review, a rating, tag us in your stories. I love to see all of that.
And I'm especially curious to know which one of the apocalyptic scenarios we talk about would you pick?! Choose below!
Avantcha’s Cinnamon Pu Erh
A mild and sweet Pu Erh tea, infused with soothing notes of cinnamon that harmonise beautifully with the earthy and woody aromas of the aged Pu Erh. The cinnamon curls and pieces add a natural spiciness, rounding out the flavour profile. For lovers of cinnamon, this tea is a true delight, offering a long, smooth finish.
