Amid the current furore over David Sullivan’s approach to teenage girls, there was passing reference in the media coverage to his association with leading organised crime figure David Hunt, sometimes known as ‘the Long Fella’.
He and the short fella go back to Soho in the 1980s and the porn and prostitutes business. The pair also share a love of West Ham United, the now relegated Premier League club that Sullivan helmed for sixteen years until his resignation as co-chairman last weekend on the eve of the BBC/Times investigation.
The property tycoon remains a major shareholder in the football club, for now at least. He promises to sue both media organisations and anyone else who repeats last night’s largely refreshed allegations that he is a a sexual predator, which of course he denies.
When Hunt lost his libel action against The Sunday Times in 2013 for calling him a crime lord, it was Sullivan who loaned the Long Fella one million pounds to pay the newspaper’s legal fees.
So what happened to that loan and will Sullivan now turn to Hunt for help in his hour of need?
