Aaron Neiderhiser · The Tuva Project

This is the last video in our series on how to calculate ED visits from medical claims data. In this video we show how to distinguish between visits that are ED-only, ED w/ observation, and ED w/ admission. We show rates for these different types from real Medicare FFS claims data.

Next week we’re doing a walkthrough of the NYU ED Classification algorithm (so if you were hoping for a topic other than something ED-related…sorry).

At Tuva one of our main goals is making it easier to learn healthcare data and analytics. Check out our full library of videos at www.youtube.com/@thetuvaproject

This week we released v0.17.0 of the Tuva Project. This release includes an awesome new feature that allows you to easily add any custom field you want to the Tuva Core Data Model. Rabee Zyoud, healthcare data engineer and founder of SnowQuery, designed and built this feature after confronting this exact problem while implementing Tuva for healthcare and life sciences organizations.

Rabee wrote a blog post explaining the feature which you can read here.

As always, if you have ideas for new products or features feel free to submit an issue here.

Here are some exciting new healthcare data & analytics jobs from the past week. As always, you can find these postings and more in the Tuva Slack #jobs channel.

Thanks for reading and if you’d like to receive more content like this every week subscribe below. To learn more about the Tuva Project visit www.thetuvaproject.com.
