My 'research note' in The Ricardian

I’m back from my Croatian holiday to this most wonderful news!

My ‘research note’ has been published in the newest issue of “The Ricardian” journal (volume XXXVI, 2026).

The title is: The ‘Deprivation’ of Elizabeth Woodville and the Herald’s Memoir.

It has been an honour to contribute a fresh perspective to the study of Elizabeth Woodville and her purported involvement in the tumultuous events of 1487.

According to the traditional narrative, Elizabeth was ‘deprived’ of her possessions during the same meeting of the Great Council that made decisions about the Lambert Simnel plot of 1487.

Various conclusions had been drawn by various historians based on that narrative, which originated in Polydore Vergil’s 1513 Anglica Historia.

But was Elizabeth truly ‘deprived’ of her possessions in 1487, and was it connected to her (alleged and unproven by contemporary sources) involvement in the Lambert Simnel plot?
