A Few Very Good Things

Happy Tuesday, folks. We’re on the cusp of April (one of my all-time favorite months), which means we’re also on the cusp of more color in our wardrobes and, for better or worse, springtime events. Does anyone else feel like March completely evaporated?

I blinked and suddenly we’re here.

I’ve been hibernating in the crispy Palm Beach sun over the past month, which is a very specific kind of hibernation. Less blankets and winter coats, more strategic shade and a light commitment to hats. And now, like a slightly disoriented seasonal resident, I’m being forced to re-enter society.

I wouldn’t say I’ve been wildly inspired by the fashion down here. I’m more of a Miami girl when it comes to street style, a little more personality, a little more edge. Palm Beach, on the other hand, operates on a very specific frequency. The women here absolutely get dressed. And by “get dressed,” I mean in something other than leggings and sandals, which at this point feels borderline aspirational.

We’re talking blazers, pearls, raffia handbags, and a full face of makeup, all before 10 AM. There is a level of commitment that is both impressive and intimidating. You can feel when you’re underdressed. It’s subtle, but it’s there. God forbid you show up in black, honey. This is Worth Avenue, not downtown Manhattan.
