Being free means not being held back but not held back from what? Are we totally free? Rom.6 vs 18(AMP) draws our attention to a reality that we have been set free from sin and have become slaves of righteousness. We were slaves to death but now we have become slaves to life (gloraay😅).
Your identity determines whether you accept being free.God declares you free because He has adopted you as His Child. Rom.8 vs 14-18(AMP).
Taking the prodigal son as an example, He couldn’t talk to his father properly because he felt he had wronged his father but his father welcomed him and restored him to his place. He even did a big party to celebrate his coming back. His elder brother came back and was angry with what the father did and complained to the father.
The elder son was free but was in bondage because he couldn’t do anything. His father corrected him that all he had belonged to him. The prodigal son had used up all his inheritance but what is left belongs to the older son. Some of us think like the prodigal son because of your past and choose not to receive God’s help but God asks us to come boldly to the throne of mercy.
Today’s message is a call to return back to God no matter how many times you think you don’t deserve it because of your concurrent sin but God has forgiven you, the moment you ask.
We are free and we will always be free as long as you allow yourself to be free.
