trump posted an image on Truth Social dressed up as Robert Duvall’s character from Apocalypse Now. Across the top: “Chipocalypse Now.” His caption: “I love the smell of deportations in the morning.” Then he wrote, “Chicago about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.” Federal agents are already staging immigration raids from Naval Station Great Lakes. Three hundred agents, trucks and all, pointed straight at a major American city. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said it plainly. “The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city. This is not a joke. This is not normal.”

This comes after trump signed an executive order rebranding the Department of Defense into the Department of War. No congressional approval, no debate, just billions wasted on new signage and letterheads while Americans are told we cannot afford healthcare or housing. It is not strength. It is desperation and showmanship dressed in camouflage.

trump built an entire campaign promising to release the Epstein files. Then the story shifted. First they were on Pam Bondi’s desk waiting to be reviewed. Then there were no files at all. Suddenly the whole thing was spun as a Democratic hoax, despite Ghislaine Maxwell’s conviction and sentencing. Despite victims like Virginia Giuffre taking their own lives.

Now Mike Johnson says trump was secretly an FBI informant sent to take down Epstein. That is the new absolutely insane fairy tale they are now trying to spin. Do they really believe Americans are that stupid? The answer is a resounding YES. Yes, they do. Because this week survivors stood on the steps of the Capitol and said they would release their own list of names. They spoke directly. They named trump as part of the abuse. And while they spoke, fighter jets thundered overhead in a flyover so low it drowned them out. That spectacle was a pathetic display and the loudest admission of guilt imaginable.

trump’s allies are begging the world to see him as a man of peace, claiming he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. What an absolute fucking joke this country has become. They tell this lie as Putin walks a red carpet laid down after a meeting with trump, then follows it with a missile barrage on eastern Ukraine. They tell this lie while trump bombs a Venezuelan dingy boat with 11 people aboard, with no proof they carried drugs. They tell this lie as he rebrands defense into war. Nothing peaceful. Nothing noble. Just fire and escalation.

MAGA’s entire personality is god and guns. They fly “Don’t Tread on Me” flags and swear the Second Amendment is sacred so they can protect themselves against tyranny. Yet tyranny is here and they cheer for it. Worse, they cheer trump’s demand to label every trans person in the United States as mentally ill and ban them from owning firearms.

Two shootings, yes just two, were carried out by trans individuals. One in Nashville in 2023 and the recent one in Minneapolis in 2025. That is the excuse. What trump and his officials do not say is that in both cases the shooters were aligned with right wing ideology. Just look at what happened in Minneapolis. The shooter’s writings were a mess of slurs, far right references, and hate sprayed in every direction. Yet trump’s FBI director Kash Patel and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem cherry picked only the lines that fit their story, while deliberately highlighting that the shooter was transgender. That is how they weaponize tragedy: strip out the inconvenient facts, stitch together the lies, and pin it on whoever they want to erase next.

What he does not say is that white cisgender men have carried out mass shootings at a rate over one hundred and thirty times higher than trans people. But there is no call to disarm them. Only us. That is not safety. That is targeted repression during a time when violence against trans people is already at an all time high.

The Supreme Court is compromised. trump gets shadow docket rulings in the dead of night, overturning lower court wins with barely a sentence of explanation.

What is a shadow docket?

This is not just my opinion. In rare interviews with NBC News, a dozen federal judges from both parties, including some appointed by trump, said the same thing. They are furious. They say the Court is undermining the lower courts, throwing judges under the bus, and leaving them exposed to public rage and real-world threats. One judge put it bluntly: “It is inexcusable. They don’t have our backs.”

These judges are not just complaining. They are pointing out that rulings they carefully research and issue against trump are being erased with one-page orders. No reasoning. No clarity. Nothing to guide the courts below. It makes it look like their work was biased or sloppy, which validates the very attacks trump launches against them. At the same time, threats against judges have skyrocketed, including bomb threats, swattings, and violent harassment.

Federal judges are saying out loud that if nothing changes, “somebody is going to die.”

Oh, lovely.

We can file lawsuits all day. We can win in district courts and appellate courts. But if everything collapses in secret at the top, then the judicial branch has already rotted and snapped off the tree. The rule of law cannot function when lower courts are left in a vacuum and the highest court operates like trump’s private concierge service. That is why Democrats must treat court reform as a non negotiable fight. Impeach corrupt justices. End lifetime appointments. Create overlapping term limits. Build a court that belongs to the people, not to the regime.

The headlines get worse every day. It is like they are competing to out-insane themselves from the day before. They flood the zone so no one can catch a breath. They want us dizzy, overwhelmed, and exhausted. It works, until it doesn’t. Because the truth still cuts through. Survivors still take the microphone. Protesters still block ICE facilities. Judges still write their letters. Governors still push back. At some point, we have to do more. Much more.

Hope comes in waves. Sometimes it is crushed in an instant. But then another wave comes, and is crushed again. What we need now is someone to break the cycle and anchor that hope. Someone unafraid to call this what it is: not a government, but a criminal syndicate. Someone willing to fight like hell to end it.
