Travel should be more than a reservation. It should be something you remember for years.
That’s what I wanted The Timeless Traveler to be.
I started this publication for people who are drawn to old cities, quiet villages, beautiful hotels, memorable meals, scenic drives, and family trips worth planning. The places I write about have history, atmosphere, and enough character to stay with you long after you leave.
Twice a week, I share destinations worth knowing about. Sometimes that means a medieval town in Italy, a lakeside village in the Alps, or a hotel in Portugal worth building a trip around. Other times, it might be a lesser-known beach town, a family destination in the United States, or a city that deserves more attention than it gets.
This publication is meant to help you discover those places, but now it can also help you plan the trip when you’re ready to go.
Over the past year, The Timeless Traveler has grown into something much bigger than I ever expected. Thousands of readers have joined the newsletter, and one of the questions I hear most often is:
“Can you help me plan this trip?”
Until recently, my answer was usually limited to recommendations.
Now it’s something more.
I’m excited to share that I’m now an independent travel advisor with Fora Travel.
That means I can do more than write about great destinations. I can help you choose the right hotel, think through an itinerary, recommend neighborhoods, restaurants, and excursions, and help turn a travel idea into a trip that’s built around the way you actually like to travel.
That’s why I wanted to share this update.
Whether you’ve been reading since the beginning or just subscribed recently, I wanted to explain how the publication works today, the different membership options, and how I can help when you’re ready to plan your next trip. And don’t worry, the regular travel newsletters aren’t going anywhere.
There’s no shortage of travel content online, but much of it starts to feel the same after a while. The same lists, the same hotels, the same itineraries, and advice that could apply to almost anyone.
That can be useful when you’re only looking for ideas. But once you start planning a real trip, the details matter more. Where you stay, which part of the city makes sense, how many nights you need, and whether the destination actually fits your family or the way you like to travel can shape the entire experience.
A good trip often comes down to choosing the right hotel, the right neighborhood, the right pace, and the right experiences.
That’s one of the gaps this publication is meant to fill.
Alongside the newsletter, I’m also now an independent travel advisor with Fora Travel. That means I can help readers plan and book trips when they’re ready to move beyond saving ideas.
Sometimes that means finding the right hotel and making sure the stay fits the trip. Other times it means helping shape everything from the destination and timing to the itinerary, restaurants, tours, transportation, and flights.
I can also help narrow down neighborhoods, decide how long to stay, and handle communication with hotels or travel partners if something goes wrong.
When available, I may also be able to secure perks through Fora, including room upgrades, breakfast credits, resort or spa credits, early check-in, and late checkout.
The goal is to save you time, help you avoid the wrong choices, and make the trip feel like it was planned for you.
Not every traveler needs the same kind of help, and not every trip looks the same. Some readers just want a better hotel. Others want help planning one major trip each year. Some want a trusted travel resource they can return to throughout the year.
Here are a few examples of how that can work.
Sometimes the biggest difference in a trip is simply staying in the right place.
Maybe you already know where you want to go. Charleston. Paris. Lisbon. Lake Como. Napa. Scotland. You don’t need someone to reinvent the destination. You need someone to help you avoid the wrong hotel, figure out which property actually fits the trip, and book it correctly.
In that situation, I can help narrow the hotel options, explain what’s actually worth the money, and, when available, book with added perks through Fora’s partner relationships.
That can mean upgrades, breakfast, credits, and preferred treatment, but just as importantly, it can mean confidence that you’re staying in the right place for the kind of trip you want.
This is a big part of the paid membership.
Maybe you’re planning a first trip to Europe. Maybe it’s an anniversary trip, a family vacation, or the one big trip you know you want to get right this year. You don’t need a year-round concierge relationship. You just want one trip to feel thoughtful, well-planned, and worth the money you’re spending on it.
That’s where I can help think through the trip from start to finish:
where to go
when to go
how many nights to spend
which hotel fits the trip
what to do each day
what’s worth booking in advance
which restaurants are worth your time
how to move around once you get there
how to make the trip feel smoother and more personal
For a lot of subscribers, this is the sweet spot. You still want the joy of the trip being yours, but you don’t want to spend weeks bouncing between hotel reviews, articles, Google Maps, Reddit threads, and TikTok videos trying to piece it all together.
Some trips need more support than others.
Maybe it’s a bigger family trip with multiple moving parts. Maybe it’s a milestone anniversary, a honeymoon, or a more ambitious Europe trip where pacing, logistics, and local coordination matter more.
In that kind of trip, the process usually starts with a full briefing: dates, budget, who’s going, what kind of pace you want, what matters most, and what you definitely want to avoid.
From there, the trip gets built around those details. Hotels, transfers, pacing, excursions, restaurant recommendations, day-by-day structure, and the overall flow of the trip all start to come together in a more intentional way.
Sometimes that support stays mostly on my side before departure. Other times it also involves a local partner or destination team helping on the ground while I remain your main point of contact before the trip and the person helping make sure everything fits together.
Some travelers don’t need constant support. They just want clarity before they leave.
That might mean making sure the full itinerary is organized about a week before departure, that all the bookings are confirmed, the timing makes sense, and there’s still room to answer last-minute questions or make a few updates before the trip begins.
That kind of help is less about “luxury concierge travel” and more about peace of mind. You leave knowing the trip has been thought through, not stitched together at the last minute.
This is really what the Founding Member tier is for.
Some people aren’t just planning one trip. They’re always thinking about the next one. A beach trip with the family. A long weekend in a city. A fall anniversary getaway. A Europe trip next summer. A bucket-list destination they’ve been talking about for years.
Those travelers don’t just need one answer. They need someone they can come back to throughout the year.
That might mean:
comparing two or three destination ideas
choosing between hotels for multiple trips
deciding whether a trip is worth doing this year or should wait
helping build out a more ambitious itinerary
stepping in when plans start getting messy
giving a second opinion before booking something expensive
helping make sure a trip is not just booked, but actually right
That’s why the Founding Member tier exists. It’s the most personal level of support I offer.
The Timeless Traveler has three membership levels, depending on how much travel help you want.
