My Year of Rest and Relaxation
Okay, it was only a weekend.
For Mother’s Day weekend, I spent time with my adult children, went to brunch with my husband’s grandmother, aunt, and cousins, saw our grandson play baseball on Saturday and celebrated with my mother, aunt, daughter and her partner, and my brother, and sister-in-law on Sunday. Then, a glorious nap.
So, for this week’s ThriveMind, some appreciation for Moms. And I’ll be back with a new post next week.
This was my Mother’s Day Social Media Post:
Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who mother, because mothering isn’t defined by blood, but by love.
These are my peeps (my mom is in the middle, my aunt, next to her, hates getting her picture taken).
And a poem:
Mother o’ Mine
1865–1936
If I were hanged on the highest hill,
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!
I know whose love would follow me still,
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!
If I were drowned in the deepest sea,
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!
I know whose tears would come down to me,
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!
If I were damned of body and soul,
I know whose prayers would make me whole,
Mother o’ mine, O mother o’ mine!
