Donald Trump’s botched Reflecting Pool revamp continues to haunt Jeanine Pirro — and it couldn’t come at a worse time given her increasingly tense relationship with the president.
The U.S. Attorney might have thrown out criminal charges against former Olympian David Hearn, but her decision to go after him in the first place, coupled with her record of failed prosecutions, has fueled calls for Pirro to be sanctioned.
A coalition of lawyers and former attorneys general recently filed a 40-page disciplinary complaint accusing the former Fox host of violating professional rules in seven separate matters. They include the Reflecting Pool fiasco, the acquittal of Subway sandwich thrower Sean Dunn, and a grand jury’s refusal to indict six Democratic lawmakers who appeared in a video reminding U.S. service members they have a legal duty to refuse illegal orders.
Trump has already publicly turned on Pirro, accusing her of “choking” by dropping the Reflecting Pool case. Now, her losing streak is under scrutiny. It’s an uncomfortable place to be for someone whose boss doesn’t readily forgive failure.
