Catherine’s visits to Wimbledon are a highlight each year. Her genuine love of tennis and her fabulous style make it a great event each time. It’s also been fun to watch her Wimbledon style evolve - from the early days of repeated more low key outfits through to today’s major fashion moments as her official role at the tournament has grown since she became patron.
I have lots of thoughts about other royal topics at the moment but it is cold, pouring with rain and windy here and I really need some bright, light fun in my life today and thought maybe you all might need some too. So I have decided to today tackle the most important royal topic on everyone’s mind - the Princess of Wales’ Wimbledon outfits. I’ve put in the work and completed the arduous task of ranking every outfit that Catherine has ever worn to Wimbledon (since marrying William in 2011). Three important points for this ranking:
This is purely for fun. I am well aware that my taste does not match that of the majority of the royal fandom (years of polls on Instagram have taught me that ). Feel free to disagree with me but please be polite. 😂
This years outfits rank high because they are fabulous but probably also because they are fresher in my mind. It was funny looking back to see how outfits I used to love have dropped in my ranking.
Full disclosure - numbers 11-20ish are pretty much interchangeable. The top 10 and bottom 10 are set but I got a little tired of trying to rank outfits in the middle so pretty much put them in randomly.

I adore everything about this dress - the colour, the length, the fabric and the gorgeous shoulder detail that you don’t get to see in most pictures. Catherine also styled the dress beautifully - great earrings, shoes, hair and an amazing vintage bag. Wimbledon perfection!

A very underrated gem, in my not so humble opinion. I love this dress - the polka dots are classic Kate - and the style is fantastic. I also love that gorgeous bag, the open toed shoes and even her shorter hair!
This one is more about the circumstances and the memory of this moment than Catherine’s dress itself. The dress is very pretty and I adore the purple but this was Catherine’s only visit to Wimbledon (along with her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Matthews) in 2024 amidst her cancer treatment. I will never forget watching on tv as she arrived in the Royal Box to a heartfelt standing ovation from the entire centre court crowd. The incredibly powerful moment and the emotion on Catherine’s face when she experienced the welcome actually made me cry. This and her joy during the game and the later trophy presentation made this her most memorable Wimbledon outing and earned her purple Safiyaa dress a top spot on this list.
Catherine’s latest Wimbledon outfit was an instant favourite. I love the colour of her dress but the hero for me was the exquisite draping - even better from the back!
I always love it when Catherine tries something different and this McQueen print dress definitely qualifies! I’m sad that we’ve never gotten to see this one again!
A bold colour, an interesting detail (that shoulder!) and fantastic accessories - this is becoming Catherine’s new Wimbledon “uniform”. I loved this blue Roksanda dress - even more for the contrasting shade of blue on the skirt that was hard to pick up in most photos.
I mean, wow! Catherine was stunning at the women’s final on Saturday is this gorgeous Roland Mouret peplum dress in an exquisite shade of red.
Oh how I love this dress and the shade of green is perfect. It probably would have been top five if not for the unfortunate wrinkle situation.
An absolute ray of Wimbledon sunshine! I’m so glad we got to see this dress again recently at Royal Ascot.
This one is a favourite because of the styling of the whole look - the black bow belt, extremely cute bag, black shoes and fabulous sunglasses - Kate looked perfectly summer cool. By far my favourite outing of this much worn Suzannah dress.

A gorgeous green dress - even if I am really glad that Catherine is now out of her white heels phase. I also liked this one better when she wore it in Jamaica in 2022.
Her first Wimbledon pants suit! I’m a big fan of Catherine’s pants suits and this light blue linen suit was a great choice for her first Wimbledon appearance of 2026.

A sentimental choice. This was Catherine’s first visit to Wimbledon after her wedding to William. This Temperley dress was classic early Catherine and, again, had great shoulder detail.

I have never understood the love that this dress gets. The green is a great colour but I don’t like the necktie and the less said about those extremely unfortunately placed darts on the bodice the better. 😬

This was such a non interesting dress to me - I didn’t like the print or the ruffle details.
Pretty but plain. It was a nice outfit, just honestly the least memorable of Catherine’s Wimbledon outfits.
