Louis Weinstock and I are excited to invite you to our next free Substack Live conversation exploring a theme that sits at the heart of so many parenting journeys:

Parenting Beyond The Playbook
Updating our expectations to meet the child we have.

📅 Monday 8th June 2026
🕑 2pm (UK time)
📍 Live on Substack

Many of us begin parenting carrying conscious or unconscious expectations about how family life will look.

And then reality arrives.

Sometimes our children require us to become different parents than we expected to be. They challenge our assumptions, stretch our capacity, and invite us to let go of old ideas about success, achievement, education, family life, and even who we thought we were.

For parents raising sensitive, deeply feeling, or neurodivergent children, the gap between our expectations and reality can feel particularly painful.

Together we’ll explore:

• The gap between the parenting journey we imagined and the one we’re actually living.
• Why letting go of expectations can sometimes feel so hard.
• The loneliness, shame, and grief that can arise for parents of highly sensitive or neurodivergent children.
• The fundamental human needs that sensitive, deeply feeling, and neurodivergent children may be pointing us towards.
• What happens when those needs go unmet—not only in our children, but in ourselves as parents.
• How we find confidence in our own instincts amidst school pressures, diagnosis pathways, waiting lists, and conflicting advice.
• Why parenting highly sensitive children often requires us to rewrite the playbook.

If this conversation resonates with you, we’d love you to join us.

Add this Substack Live Link to your calendar and come along on Monday at 2pm.
