computers
all try to
win the game
none
know
what the game is
only
something changes
when they move
no computer
remembers
enough
each one
avoids
the last
mistake
every move
becomes
someone else’s
instruction
they only
ever learn
from what
the others
have already
changed
sometimes
the game
continues
without them
after enough
iterations
rules
begin
appearing
no one
remembers
writing them
no computer
has reported
recognising
itself
as part
of the game
perhaps
the game
is what happens
between them
and perhaps
that’s why
none of them
ever notice
they’re playing

Something more poetry from me?
or maybe an essay on what happens before any words are written
