So, things are heating up in Washington, and Canada is not backing down. Jamieson Greer and his lackeys just sent Ottawa a brand-new tariff offer on Tuesday, and Canada took one look at it and sent it right back. No outrage or panic. They didn’t walk out of negotiations. They just said, “This isn’t good enough; let’s try again.”

For a White House accustomed to making foreign governments jump through hoops on command, this cold refusal to negotiate when facing a deadline represents a complete structural breakdown of their favourite extortion tactic.

This also backs up exactly what Prime Minister Carney has stated again and again. We want a good deal for Canadians, and we won’t just take any deal that comes across the table. When you’re negotiating from strength, you don’t need to keep making new offers. Trump’s team has now put multiple proposals on the table, and Canada still isn’t impressed. That’s not Canada being stubborn; that’s Canada finally negotiating like it has options. And here is why that is so important.
