Episode 51
Hello my dear brothers and sisters in Christ! Today we are continuing to read the book of John together! We will be reading about the Samaritan woman at the well and her conversation with Jesus in John 4. I so love getting to do these studies with you. The Bible is so important to me and I want you to fall in love with God’s word and be a LIGHT!
The goal of the book of John is summed up in these verses:
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:30-31
The book of John was written so that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. This book is written for us to be confident and BELIEVE! Believe in Jesus and who He is.
Read John 4:39-42
Because of the woman’s testimony—her going out and telling people what Jesus did for her—many believed!
This is such a wonderful thing we can do. What has Jesus done for you? For your family? How has He shown up in your life? What is your testimony?
Share that with others. Your testimony is powerful.
I love when they say… “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”
I have a personal testimony with Jesus. I know that He is the savior of the world because He saved me. He loved me. He knew me. He pursued me. No one can take this testimony away from me. We can argue about dates and facts, and you can think I am wrong or not believe me, but at the end of the day I have had a personal experience with the Lord. I have experienced the Love of Jesus, and I cannot deny Him and what He has done for me.
No one can take my testimony.
No one can take away your testimony and what Jesus did for you in your life.
That is why testimonies are so powerful. They are our real experiences and encounters with the Lord. They are our stories that we get to share with others and testify of the goodness and the truth of Jesus.
I once heard a pastor say that there are 5 gospels. The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and you. We have these four gospels written down in the Bible, which are a testimony to who Jesus is and what He has done. And then there is you. What has God done in your life? How has Jesus shown up? Your life can point people to God. Who knows, you may be the only “gospel” someone meets. The word “Gospel” means “good news.” So how are you telling people about the good news? Does your life reflect that good news? Are you pointing people to God? Are you loving people and being Christ-like? What are you doing with your life? What testimony do you have? It doesn’t need to be something grand and big. Just tell your story. What has Jesus done for you? How can we be more like Jesus and point people to Him?
Pray about this.
