What a fucking joke!
This guy. I mean, we were expecting someone special. Somebody big, mean, frightening.
He killed thirteen teenage boys, after all. Sick fuck. Raped them, beat them, cut bits off. Tortured and mutilated these kids for weeks, some for months. Kept them naked in a cage.
He was a celebrity. A real-life monster.
Yeah, that’s what we thought, anyway.
Turns out he’s just another man with an unhealthy fetish who got away with far too much for far too long.
Clever piece of filth, I’ll give him that. Walked into the police station with a smile on his face and his hands in the air. Told it to ‘em straight. No remorse, no excuses, just the facts they needed to send him here for the rest of his days.
Turns out, The Pied Piper of Peasedale isn’t what you’d expect at all.
Respectable almost. He had a decent job, he’s got a brother who visits him as often as he can, a niece too. Lived in a nice gaff with a lake, the lucky bastard, left by his dad.
Some shits have all the luck.
Thing is though, there’s something not right about him. He isn’t like anyone else in this place.
He’s got a secret. I can smell it.
Walks around like he knows something the rest of us don’t, and I reckon he does. No one dares go near him, cos he’s so damn calm. What he did to those kids is beyond anything anyone else here has done, by a mile, and that’s saying something.
But everyone has their reasons. Their trauma. Their mental health issues.
Not him.
There’s a hierarchy in this place, and Gunner Piper’s crimes should have put him at the top of the fucking tree. Made him the king of monster mansion.
Should’ve. He doesn’t brag. Doesn’t talk about his crimes. Doesn’t jabber on about his innocence. Nah, he is a closed book. Impenetrable. Cool as ice.
I’ve only met one truly innocent man in here, jumpy fucker, shook from dawn to dusk.
Gunner Piper makes me nervous.
Yep. A monster with secrets. Complicated. Blurs that line between good and bad that makes a person question everything they think they know about humanity.
I don’t think he’s hiding something. I think the guy is hiding someone.
That’s what makes him the most terrifying inmate in this place.
Not because of what the world thinks he’s done.
Because of what I think he hasn’t.
