Itinerary: booked. Out of office message: scheduled. Summer means Team Theory is on the move.
From islands in the Mediterranean to the Bay Area, from the French Riviera to points along the East Coast, we’ve been all over the map. And we’re spilling the details. Read on to hear about our recent travels—the hotels we booked, the meals we indulged in, the outfits we wore, the books we read, and more.
Destination: Ibiza and Formentera, Spain, and Sorrento, Italy.
Where did you stay?
My family and I stayed at Hotel Xereca in Ibiza and Can Tres in Formentera. In Sorrento, we booked Parco dei Principi.
What was on your itinerary?
Pool days were frequent, so were late dinners—like 11pm—and sunsets at the beach. Shopping, of course, which I enjoyed the most in Formentera. A boat day, amazing tapas, all the things. We even went out dancing, and my parents were the life of the party.
How did you style your looks?
Before the trip even started, I made a folder of photos with each look I tried on so I could just be prepared each day. I wore a lot of swimsuits, linen dresses, and all-white looks—including a Theory pleated cotton skirt I’ve had in my closet for a while. My go-to shoe? Our kitten heel thong sandal.
What was your favorite meal?
We went to SANTA CLARA in Formentera. As a family of 5, we usually just order the whole menu, but some highlights were the steak, caprese salad, fries, and their rosemary vermouth served on ice.
In the mountains of Sorrento, our favorite spot was called Lo Stuzzichino. We were all craving pomodoro— and they delivered, along with delicious eggplant parmesan, bruschetta, tiramisu, and lemon sorbet. I loved the fact that they were sourcing ingredients from the vegetable garden next door!

Destination: Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
Where did you stay?
We rotated between my family’s home in Ship Bottom and my in-laws’ house in Long Beach Township.
What was on your itinerary?
Beach, beach, and more beach. Most mornings started with a workout, followed by coffee from How You Brewin in Surf City. From there, my goal every day was to be on the beach by 10 AM, where I rotated between reading, gabbing with my cousins, dozing off, taking a dip in the water, reapplying sunscreen, snacking—and repeat.
But my favorite time of every day was watching the sunset from our backyard on the bay, preferably with a glass of crisp white wine in hand.
How did you style your looks?
For the beach: a button-up over my bathing suit (always!) with my extremely-worn-in Rainbow flip flops and a raffia bucket hat.
For dinners out and ice cream runs, I packed light and loose. Our Washed Twill loose pant pairs perfectly with a fitted tank and strappy sandals, or I reached for one of my many, many dresses.
What was your favorite meal?
No matter the temperature outside, I can never pass up a bowl of Beach Haven Bisque (half New England clam chowder, half lobster bisque) from Country Kettle Chowda.

Where did you stay?
I spent the weekend at a friend’s house on the lake.
What was on your itinerary?
Our days on the lake were spent out on the boat, jet-skiing, swimming, and soaking up the sunny weather. We also hosted a BBQ cookout for the holiday weekend (yum!), and made some time to go shopping at local stores.
How did you style your looks?
My outfits were super casual. Most of the time, I was in a button-up—either linen or my tried-and-true cotton Weekend Shirt—and bathing suit or denim shorts, and sandals.
What was your favorite meal?
We had some really delicious fish tacos at a local restaurant one night. And there’s really nothing like a home-cooked summer BBQ—my plate was full of ribs and potato salad.

Destination: Antibes and Gordes, France, and London, England.
Where did you stay?
My boyfriend and I stayed at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, and Airelles Gordes, La Bastide.
What was on your itinerary?
A lot of the usual relaxing activities: days by the pool, massage appointments, yoga class, paddle boarding. A little adventure—we climbed the famous rope ladder at Hôtel du Cap (getting down was surprisingly much harder than going up). We also visited Musée Picasso in Antibes and the SCAD campus in the village of Lacoste, where they are showcasing an exhibit of iconic looks worn by André Leon Talley. Another highlight was experiencing Ridley Scott’s vineyard in Provence. Not just for the wine, but because of the memorabilia and illustrative storyboards from his most famous films that decorated the space. In London, a top priority was to eat some good Indian food.
How did you style your looks?
I packed pretty much every swimsuit that I own, and also panic-purchased many, many pairs of sunglasses before the trip. Whenever I travel in the summer, I like to bring dresses for one-and-done options that require very little thinking. I also packed some of my Theory warm-weather favorites: linen wide-leg pants, the Irving shirt as a cover-up option, and heeled flip-flops.
What was your favorite meal?
The meals at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc really are great—the signature Crêpes Suzette prepared tableside with Grand Marnier were mouthwatering. I became addicted to the region’s zucchini beignets. Another highlight was the really delicious white and red Burgundies we tried throughout the whole trip.

Where did you stay?
I spent the long weekend at my boyfriend’s apartment in Rincon Hill.
What was on your itinerary?
We visited the Legion of Honor museum, which houses everything from European paintings to ancient and contemporary art. For view and vibes, we also hiked to Land’s End one day to enjoy a spectacular view of the Sutro Baths and Golden Gate Bridge. Plus, I even got him to enjoy a night of karaoke with me!
How did you style your looks?
I’m having an all-white summer, but had to make some adjustments since it was way cooler there than here in New York. The Regal Wool sweater tee came with me, long-sleeve styles, and I’ve been living in my vintage white leather jacket.
What was your favorite meal?
The nigiri and sake (my personal favorite: The Gentleman) at Ozumo was so good, we went back a second time.
