The only grandchild of the Inkling, philosopher, and author, Owen Barfield, Owen became sole trustee of his grandfather’s literary estate in 2007.
He has dedicated himself to building his grandfather’s literary, intellectual, and spiritual legacy for current and future generations, and making his own contribution to the spiritual sciences.

45 years ago, Owen Barfield gave a lecture in California, on his life-long theme of the evolution of consciousness.
Today, his grandson reminds us of the clarion call by the First and Last Inkling towards the rediscovery of meaning – within our own lives, thinking, and humanity itself.
In this, the centenary year of the publication of the first Inkling fantasy novel – Barfield’s The Silver Trumpet – we celebrate the ways in which C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were influenced by their fellow Inkling, friend, provocateur, collaborator, and walking companion.
